How to drive my G37s coupe 6MT

Okay so I bought my g37 about a month ago now I am starting to get comfortable and trying to learn how to launch so i tried today with my VDC off and i burned rubber and then my car wouldn't go above 20 mph even after 2nd gear ..I smelled the clutch burning but I'm wondering what I am doing wrong and if im seriously doing damage to my car and need to stop...I know that smelling your clutch burn isn't a good thing . After me not going faster than 20 mph i stopped the car and it went back to normal. I have driven manuals before but never in a car like this so now I'm really trying to improve my shifting and use this car to its full potential so any comments or hints would be greatful.

P.s First post.. I'm a newbie

You burned the hell out of your clutch. Stop it. It's not good for the car. Put money away now for when you'll have to replace it very soon. You are riding the clutch too much trying to launch the car.

It's been a while since I actually have done that since I have uprev's launch control. But basically, hold the throttle at 3000~ RPM, nothing more than 4000 RPMS. Then drop the clutch completely and it should instantly move. Don't let off slowly at that high of an RPM or you are just burning up clutch. If you are going to do stuff like this I highly recommend you swap your fluid to Motul RBF600 which can take some beating before it gets really hot. Also keep changing your clutch fluid every year which is the best way to prevent your CSC from failing. I've been ******* my clutch since I got it. I am at 75k miles and still going strong on the oem csc and clutch. It has seen hundreds maybe thousands of full throttle clutch drops by now. Enjoy!

At the end of the day, it is a luxury sports car. It's made to do this stuff.

Burned your clutch...I learned how to drive manual on this car. Burned mine one good time, and that was a lesson learned.

Watch RPM when launching before you really do irreversible damage. For the sake of my clutch, I never launch.

One should learn to walk before trying to run. Get proficient at normal up/down shifting before trying to race the car.

Btw, a clutch job is ~$2-3K.

I don't think me doing this one time destroyed my clutch ? people put way more abuse on a clutch when first starting to learn how to drive a manual and it's fine i think you're over reacting a little

I've been driving manuals for a while it's not like i don't know how to shift up and down but i don't know how to properly abuse the car . i really don't think my one time doing this destroyed my clutch. If so that's pretty bad because i abused the **** out of a 2000 mustang gt with 170000 miles and this infiniti has 55000 and engineered way better

Also no one answer the question why the car wouldn't go over 20 after launch untill i completely stopped it. i read somewhere that the car will shut off the fuel pump or something when detecting it's skidding to much what's that about ?

If you have the need for speed, get a motorcycle. Being in NC, you have access to many fun roads, get your fix there.
