Cup holder upgrade replacment?

The cup holder in the G37 is of absurd poor design. Anyone been able to find an aftermarket replacement or drop in to actually "hold" your coffee cup without spilling all over your lap when turning?

I keep a sleeve on my cup and water bottle on the other side.

Good idea...I suppose keeping two items in the holder at one time fixes the engineering issue. Anyone else with a drop in replacement?

Agreed, it is a poor design on the coupes. Do not use the standard paper cups from the convenience store---get a quality cup with a leak proof design. If you shop around, you will find some that fit better than others. The idea posted above to keep a water bottle in one side is not a bad workaround, at least until you can locate a better fitting cup. Another suggestion is to use the holder on the door instead of the center console. If anyone finds a quality cup that holds hot or cold liquids that fits well, please post up details.

I think this is the better approach, a better cup vs finding a better holder. I like my G37 but this was a major oversight. The center console in the Coupe is poorly designed all the way around...the arm rest doesn't open well when sitting in the car. The USB port is nearly impossible to find unless you know where it is. Oh and the stock sway bars are a joke! LOL [Just got the Hotchkiss installed...now it handles the way I expected the Sport model should handle....might get more coffee in my lap...]
