Found an 08 for sale but need some advice

Hi Guys,

Looks like I'm still mulling over the 37.
Been looking for the past few months since my last post.

What are your thoughts on this? Hoping I can talk him down to $8500 cash (or is that too aggressive?).

I think it's a good deal - It's a S model so you get every option there is for these cars - Love the color too and the mileage is pretty low for an 08, so this car was definitely taken care of. You will know more after test driving it.

$8500 cash seems reasonable. You're gonna love the pedal shifters

Well since he said its negotiable, by all means offer him $8500 and see what he rebuttals with. For my own self worth, I hope he laughs in your face and never replies since I paid $12k for the same car at 80k last year lol.. All that being said, 10k is already a great deal in my opinion.

$10k is a good price for a G in decent condition, but at the end of the day it's still a sale in the free market. Negotiation protocol typically suggests that you offer a number lower than asking price. However, I'd advise you to make your offer contingent on the results of a pre-purchase inspection. Escape clauses can be very powerful negotiation tools

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm waiting on the seller to get back to me on the VIN.

Since he has the car for sale at 10K, I'm not about to just pay the exact amount. Hopefully he's willing to negotiate down to $9000 (hence I'm starting my offer at $8500).

Thanks.

Doesn't look like there's much of a description in the CL ad. Make sure to ask for a Carfax or Autocheck report, maintenance history, if it's been in any accidents, major repairs, etc. and of course get a PPI from a trusted mechanic.
