Opinion on wrap color
Opinion on wrap color
Hi everyone. I need your opinion on wrap color. I am about ready to pull the trigger on wrap. I have a graphite shadow 2011 G37S Coupe. The paint is in good condition and I have done research on wrap cost (about $3K to 3.5K for a good full body wrap in So Cal. I have wheat color interior and was thinking copper color. I like to find out what you guys/gals think of copper color (like a new penny) or any suggestion of other colors. The only problem is my wife loves copper and was thinking of wrapping her Lexus RX350 the same color. We have seen the color at car shows and we like it. $3.5K is a lot of money, so I just want to make a sane decision. The car is stock.
I wrapped the sedan i used t have like 4 different times, and my Vette is wrapped matte silver... Copper is a good color. All that mattes is that YOU like it. I personally like Orafol Matte Rising Sun over 3M Matte Copper (what you are looking for).
$3.5K is quite expensive for a full wrap unless its a special order color or finish [chrome, carbon, brushed]. I used to run a vinyl shop in Long Beach for 2 years, and I currently work out of one in Walnut during nights/weekends. Full wraps are priced at $2.5K [Any gloss, satin, matte finish] for full wrap with an accent color [Typically black].
Shop around some more, and save yourself some money.

$3.5k is a bit overpriced. Get quotes from 3 different shops so you get a better idea of what your market offers.
As for color, I think the most important questions is- what color are your (future) wheels/calipers?

I got my car wrapped for $1700 and my interior for $250 but I got the friend discount lol. They usually charge $2500 which is still cheaper than your quote but with that being said there's alot of competition around here in NJ where I live which may also be a reason for the dramatic price difference. But I can't see it being that hard to find a few different shops to get quotes from in CA.
Also I think the copper for your interior would look great. Not sure how well it would mesh with the wheat interior but as previously stated all that matters is that you like it. Best of luck with your decisions and make sure you post up some nice before/after shots for us all!

Send me a PM and I can recommend a number of shops in the LA, IE, OC, and Temecula area depending on your location. Even if I cant help you personally, I have friends in the industry that will. There is no reason to pay $3,500 for a commerical based company to wrap your car, when there are grassroots based enthusiast/boutique vinyl shops that will do the job for $2,000-2,500 all day.

Great job in looking out for fellow members C1Forged! Although it's not my car being wrapped, I always appreciate members helping one another out here! Thanks!!!
