Rear Bumper Soot

Hey guys,
For the past year or so I've been getting super bad soot all over the back of the car. I don't really remember when it started (or why) but its gotten to the point where its just always so dirty and is permanently staining my white paint. I thought it was because the car was running rich due to the intake, but i took it out and replaced it with the stock and its just as bad. Only other powertrain mods is an invidia catback. I cleaned the throttle bodies and MAF sensors with no difference Any help is appreciated!

I have the Invidia Gemini cat back exhaust too and have the same thing. There was soot coming from the exhaust that coated the rear bumper. Although, it's less noticeable on platinum graphite. I think this is normal and nothing to be alarmed about. It's the same for my buddy's 350Z. My G35 was also the same.

Are you running catless?

I dont get much soot coming from my exhaust and definitely none gets on the bumper.. Intake/exhaust with stock cats untuned.

originally ran intake/exhaust, but switched to stock intake/exhaust to run more lean, although there really wasn't much difference

lol, I have noticed this about the last 2 G's I have had. I had a G35 coupe that had it and my IPL Vert does too. I think I even asked the forum if they noticed when I got the vert. It was guessed that the aerodynamics caused it but I noticed that my wifes new BMW x3 gets the same thing on hers so cant be the mods causing it.

For me its a mix of running a bit rich, no cats and just being picky.

I get this bad ever since my HFC went on. It was always an issue but seems to be exacerbated now.
