G37 Aftermarket Spoiler

So I need a little help guys, I got a OE spoiler off ebay(eventually will get OEM) but it came with the brake lights etc. My question is how would I wire it so that when I do brake it does light up? I got a wire with 2 split ends in it to I guess wire in somewhere but I don't know where.

You'd run it under the trunk lid liner and tap into the OEM taillight brake wires, you"ll need some weatherproof rubber grommets for the pass between the trunk lid and the trunk.

Thanks! I'm not good with wires or anything so how do I "Tap" into the wires? just tie them together?

That being said, I would have someone else do the job for you OR, hop on YouTube and search some wiring 101 stuff. You can learn a lot of basics in just a few minutes. This is wiring 040 to be honest. Have you never, in your life had to splice 2 wires together?? Ever??

If you're eventually going to get an OEM spoiler then you're literally wasting money and effort on the OE one.
I'm gonna assume the OE one cost you around $150; my OEM cost me $365. IJS

Stay away from the aftermarket or "OEM Like" and just suck it up and get OEM. Not going to go into details but if you search, there are hundreds of posts on the subject.

Anyone have the part number for the rear brake light delete? Basically a cover w/o the brake light that the speakers go on.

I keep hearing about how one should never buy an OE spoiler off ebay but I've never actually found a pic or thread of one. Just out of curiosity has anyone actually seen one of these spoilers installed?

There are hundreds of threads about spoilers, OEM or not OEM. I'll save you the time of searching and reading. While some folks have had a positive experience the majority have not. The issues were fit, finish, lack of all the proper hardware, etc. In the long run while the OEM is overpriced (as in all OEM stuff) you get a good fit and finish, you get all the hardware including light harness, new trunk bumpers and struts plus color match. It also aheres better as the "OEM Like" use just double sided tape, the OEM uses that and clips/screws. You do have to drill holes in your trunk lid. I installed mine 6 years ago and it's still on rock solid, no gaps.

By the way, read carefully on eBay and don't let "OEM Like" trick you into thinking it's 100% Infiniti OEM. If you find a 100% OEM on eBay make sure it has ALL the hardware and template.

Just ordered the OEM from the dealership this morning, the OE(ebay) one flew off the car at like 60 mph. Thankfully it was at 2 in the morning where no one was on the road. And yes fitment is very poor on it and has a lot of gaps for water to get into.

I only ordered it because I needed something fast and quick for a cruise and photoshoot. But it didn't even make it to any of the two.
