Slowly getting bored of the G37, What should I do?
I guess it depends wat kind of crowd u bringing the cars around. I hope ur not taking the g to caliper cover vette crowds and expecting anything then "is that Chinese or Japanese" Lmao jk I crack myself up
Vettes are cool but unless its cammed and slammed they'll never stop traffic like a Lambo or Ferrari would. I have no doubt the older guys that owned 57 Chevys new would love to brown nose the owner about it but anyone else, meh... Maybe I'm just jaded since Vettes and Mustangs are super common here and hardly warrant a second look unless they're boosted with a chute driving down Main st

Me too ...bored...honestly its not fast enough. I can pay 5k and get a 2008 to 2011 Vette with low miles and its night and day difference with no lag...Plus the G looks really good but honestly it is not a show stopper like a Vette. Everywhere I stopped when I owned a Vette someone commented now I have never once had anyone tell me how awesome my car looked and it is, lowered, Tanabe exhaust, spoiler, splitter etc.
Hard to sell the G, because this car is really good in everything including reliability and its paid off. However, its not really great in anything...not in a hurry to sell it..

Lol....When I used to own one that was my first impression until I realized how many younger guys actually own them and wanted them. I think people use that association because yes the mid life crisis guys are around. I would rather have an older guy who loves cars driving my kinda car then the tons of soccer moms that drive the G. Plus I think people who cant afford a Vette are just jealous so they try to associate one of the greatest sports cars in the US ever made with something negative to hide the fact they cant afford it.
Actually they retain their value much better than a G. I purchased a 2008 used in 2008 for approximately 34k with only 4k miles on it. Presently if you can get one with low miles (25k or less) it will cost you around 30 to 32k. 3k 5k drop max over 8 years? Take a 2008 G37 and say the same thing...
Interior is just a media produced lie. I have owned a M3 and a Vette and seriously the interior is not that much better. The G37 has just as much plastic although the seats in the G37 are superior to the Vette. So you give up seats...but with the Vette you get show stopper looks, no lag, 12.4 second stock car versus 13.8. Depends on what your looking for I guess...from a performance car stand point the Vette kills the G...from a comfort and tech the G....

Yes Vette's are cool but you all failed to mention my solution to boredom. After modding the hell out of my 05 G sedan (Amanda) over the last 7 years I got bored with her as well. Enter Peyton, an 06 Spice Red Metallic GTO 6MT purchased last Sept. with a whopping 27.1K original miles. She was a 2 owner car at the time in like new condition and completely stock except for an aftermarket Alpine DD with Bluetooth and iPod connection.
An Australian built body and frame led to an impressive build quality inside and out, interior is sooo much better than most GM vehicles from 06. She has the most comfortable and supportive stock seats I've ever sat in and is way more comfortable to drive and ride in than my G was stock. Not to mention the LS2 and Tremec T56 6 speed, fantastic combination!! And she's definitely not a dime a dozen, in 06 Pontiac only produced 101 cars exactly like mine (same paint, option packages). And in general there aren't many GTO's anywhere. I literally get a compliment every other day from people who know what she is and people that don't have a clue. Lots of enthusiasts hate on them because of their fairly bland styling and relatively soft stock suspension but I think they are sexy as hell and I'm past the point I need low and super tight suspension parts to be happy. She handles twisty's just fine and I probably don't have to tell you all what happens when I downshift to third at 80 and drop the hammer (on remote Mexican highways only of course).

To summarize she's a surprisingly comfortable DD, a fantastic road trip car and a hell of a lot of fun every time I drive her. So much so the G's now for sale. Reminds me of a car commercial several years ago that had a hot brunette look in the camera and purr "When you turn on your car, does it return the favor?" My answer is hell to the yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you love your car man, they can be pretty quick with some bolt-ons and a tune. I see a ton of Holdens/GTO's around here but there's a huge modern American muscle car scene here in the Midwest so I'm probably just jaded. Good luck with the sale!

Driving the G locally around here is boring indeed. The car really comes alive on the road trips where roads do anything but go straight.
OH-555 winding, narrow, goes every which way. Probably could of gone faster, but totally expecting to see a deer around the corner this early in the morning.

Agreed. I just wasn't feeling it. Here's another clip a few days later. I've been on this road several times now, plenty challenging.

Would be really flying if I got to drive these all the time. Remember, in chicago it's nothing but grid. Also, prime directive is not to wreck the car

plus side of getting an Evo X is you won't be bored of it since it will spend so much of it's time broken you will have forgotten what it's like to drive it each time you are able to again!
this car is not built for speed IMO. has enough power to do ok but I went on a super twisty road 2 weekends ago and have put most of my mods in suspension work. and WOW was it worth it. I didn't trust my car before really but hadn't pushed it and now am very comfortable and very impressed by it's capabilities. A whole different level of fun. go beat on your car for awhile and fall back in love!

That's not true. Evo X's are extremely reliable. And since it's just a 4 cylinder it's really easy to work on. They only start to get expensive once you go past 450 whp because then you have to build the engine, trans, and t case. I've always wanted to turbo the g37 but the heat is the biggest issue, also not cheap.
my Evo X has been the most reliable car i've owned.
also, the auto climate control actually works like auto climate should, unlike the G.

Both of which are alleviated with a rear mounted setup
Yea I woldnt say I'm really board, but the gas mileage is starting to hurt, and looking for something with just a little more, Been looking at 09-12 A6 3.0T's a lot lately. :/
