My horrible luck

So if any of you frequent the newbie section then you may have seen I recently posted up an intro thread. I purchased a 2008 Shadow Grey G37S on 07/17...not even 2 weeks ago. This is my first new car and especially my first car of this caliber. Anyways, I took my car to the dealership yesterday because there was a few things agreed upon with the purchase of the vehicle I wanted them to tighten up or inspect again. So I get there and have my maintenance representative do a preliminary inspection. He got to the front bumper and said "some damage to front bumper". I replied, "there isn't any damage to the front bumper, it's just misaligned and that's why I'm here...to have it readjusted". I walked over to see what he talking about thinking there was some chips from rocks....BOOM!

Someone at work backed into my car with a truck hitch and bailed. So I'm scrambling right now to try to find other companies that could've had their security cameras within that line of sight but so far no luck. Going through insurance would be pointless because my deductible will be just as much as the front bumper. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly which truck I parked behind so I'm considering having the dealership send me pics with height measurements and going around measuring truck hitches. When I find a match I will confront the guy. This could lead to me picking the wrong person though. What do you all think? Should I continue investigating or simply try to get the dents out myself and drop it?

IMO, this dent does not seem too noticeable to me where you need a brand new bumper.

Either upgrade to a 12+ sports bumper, an ipl bumper or just get that current bumper fixed. Should cost to much of don't think? I don't think it would require a new one though. Regardless I'm sorry to hear that man I know the feeling and it isn't pretty.

That's really unfortunate man. But I agree with Kenny, it really doesn't look like you'd need a new bumper at all. It's hard to tell from the pictures and since the bumper is a little dirty, but I don't really see any spiderwebbing or cracking, and that dent is pretty minor.

Sorry to see/hear about the bumper. If it were me I'd pull it off and see how much of that dent will pop back out. Plastics like our bumpers tends to have some memory so you might be able to get things near normal all on your own.

This^^ with some heat applied w/ some force in the right places you might get it pretty flat.
Sorry that you're going through that, hopefully it won't end up too bad.

And I always keep extremely low expectations of drivers these days, it's becoming an epidemic, just doesn't seem like that many give a damn anymore, don't have driving skill, and surely not etiquette, and have way too much to do when behind the wheel that's much more important than driving

And when they screw up it's becoming rarer that they stay around and do the responsible thing
