They should have just called it the RS. Everyone knows that RS stands for race sport. But the Q60 Red Sport doesn't exactly live up to that name either.

The IPL also had suspension mods that did make a noticeable difference over the S. Overall the performance increase was very incremental unfortunately. Personally I would have bought an S over an IPL if I'd wanted to mod bodywork separately and go with a different color. I really didn't want to mess with that and liked the IPL lines save for the rear bumper cover.

why not.. considering the jump is substantial enough with the new line.. unlike the differences between the g37IPL and g37S..
at least with the red sport.. and even with the model below.. you have a much higher ceiling than the IPL..
its also underrated...

 

Underrated is like the new TTRS and RS3 which, when dyno'd, are coming in over their rated crank hp at the wheels.

The RS just isn't sporty. It's a luxury GT. And it's still slow, no rear LSD, steering devoid of feel. Last comparison test I read had it at 5.0 seconds to 60 and most are running about 13 seconds in the 1/4. It doesn't handle particularly well in this day and age, same 7AT transmission with the same torque rating and no headroom for making more power safely. Pretty much sounds like the last gen car in terms of it's faults and how unresponsive it'll be to mods. Now the Silver S, sure it's got 100hp buffer built in so you'll see good hp gains. None the less, the RS doesn't drive or feel like it has 400hp.

But I do agree, in terms of engine power, there's a big gap between the Silver and the Red. I wasn't arguing that point so much as I was arguing it doesn't deserve an "RS" moniker from the perspective of other "RS" badged cars from other auto makers.

 

i need help im trying to find and ipl body kit for my 2013 g37s but im not sure i know of any good brands offering the product. and its a little much going OEM
