Not all dealerships are “Stealerships.”

I took my car in today for an oil/filter change and for them to look at my battery. I hadn’t run the car in three days and there was not enough juice left to start the engine. After all, the current battery is seven years old and should probably be replaced. So I charged up the battery enough to send me to the dealer.

They went over the car looking for related problems. They eventually told me the battery was still OK but the vent control valve often stuck in the open position causing an undue power drain even when the car was not being operated. They told me they would try to unstick the valve, but a new one costs $515! After a while they told me they were able to get it working again. They charged me $40 for the oil change and I was out of there. Being out of warranty, I thought that was good service.

I too seem to have a good ship. Went in for second leaky ps hose. They replaced it under warranty and noticed key fob batt was low and replaced it free of charge i know small fee to have a happy customer but i still thought it a nice gesture to do.

I have 4 dealerships around my area all better than the other in my opinion. I've honestly never had a problem at any Infiniti dealership even when I owned my g35, except for a horrible buff job after a detail. (Young stupid decision and since then learned doing a detail yourself is the way to go)

Dealerships have to make enough to cover high overhead, so to expect prices to be on par w/ small independent shops is unrealistic. A dealership w/ well trained mechanics
and a professional staff shouldn't be referred as a stealership. Sure there are plenty of shady car dealers and that term is fitting, but to lump them all in to that group is unfair.

I have a great relationship with my dealership.

90% of the formula is having a good service advisor.

If you have a service advisor that is more of a salesman than an advisor, you're screwed.

My service advisor is very cool. He has a Q50 as a daily driver and an Evo as a track car.

I only use the parts department or warranty work at my dealership so I'll never know. Whoever gets over charged at the dealership is their own fault, teach yourself to work on your car, its not that hard. Glad to hear you came out on top!

Yea, Im buying my next car with them. They are lossing money on those vehicles to sell them. Im guessing they are making it in the Finance, warrantys and Manufacture incentives.

I bought my G35 from them. They gave me an internet price that was exactly what I paid when I went in. I bought my G37 from Infiniti of Thousand Oaks, another good dealer. Never pressure me & the service manager always compliments me on my mods.

^ yeah, i figured as much. i guess each dealer has their own strategy, but invoice on the '16 RS400 is ~$44,600 so they are well under that. i thought the RS400's were a hot commodity so it is a surprise to see such a deep discount.

not sure what the dealer actually buys them for, probably somewhere between invoice and this $40k number. if i was in Cali and wanted a RS400 i would be jumping on this. smoking deal.

FYI there is a TSB on the 08's about the VCV and battery drain. It shouldn't cost you anything even if they had to replace it.
