Make this splitter fit your 2011+ Sport Bumper...

Problem: Stillen Splitter was made specifically for pre 2011 G37 Sport models. It is not made for 2011 + G37 Sport front end and it is not an easy bolt on. Me and a vendor online discussed with Stillen and they agreed that it is not a direct bolt on.

Stillens response to it not fitting:
"According to mgt. the customer’s bumper is different then the “Sport” bumper that is shown on our website. We can take back the splitter back unless the customer wants to make it work."

Reason: I discovered in my situation that the splitter needs to be trimmed so it clears the lip (marked below in red) of the factory lower bumper. If you do not do this it does not sit flush and does not reach on both ends of wheel well. If this is specific to the splitter I got and my car I do not think so....but proceed at purchasing at your own risk.

Solution: Trim these areas....Left and right so that the splitter will fit flush to the bottom of the bumper. This also allows it to reach on both side perfectly. If it is not flush it will not reach on either side.

Hints:
-As others mentioned remove the front fascia of your car because you just cant do what you need to do underneath it.

-Removing the bumper is fairly easy except for the two screws hidden in the wheel well, and the clips on the front bumper located on either side by the headlights ...be prepared to possibly break a clip. I know I snapped a little one but it seemed to make no difference after install.

-I drilled holes and used 9 bolts and nuts and applied locktight onto the bolts. Evenly space them. With the two stock bolts at either end mine is attached with 11 bolts. Aint going anywhere unless the whole bumper goes with it....

-Make sure before you drill holes that you line it up perfectly and mark the middle to confirm with some white out....I drilled the two end stock bolt locations in advance and put a nut and bolt on either end to keep it from moving around when drilling ....

-In my case when I was finished the stock bolts were not long enough on the two end stock locations when mounted on car. You have to visit your local auto parts, bring your stock bolts and get some that are longer to fit depending on how thick your splitter is. GOOD LUCK!

Ending result: Clean and sporty...

Thanks guys! Now I gotta put on some tannabe springs and some 20mm H&R spacers to get it down just a bit...!
You guys like the black spoiler ?...Keep the chrome delete black spoiler or buy the OEM sport spoiler -which matches the graphite color?
My thinking was -more black the better - and it ties in with the splitter and diffuser ...ya or na?

I personally like the blacked out trim on the trunk. It sits well with the black diffuser/splitter plus I have one on my trunk. The OEM sport spoiler looks very nice too. Guess it all depends on what look you're going for.

Just so everyone knows.....AK-X makes a splitter for the 2011+ sport bumper. lol

But make no mistake, I had the stillen splitter on my 08 sport bumper, and the quality is great! Looking good bro, keep it up

Interesting, but unless its brand new I talked and emailed prior to my purchase of the Stillen and Autokits definitely had nothing specifically for the 2011+ ....
