Sell or Keep - Really need advice!

I own a grey 2008 G37 S Coupe 5 speed automatic with 63,000 miles. A friend has expressed interest in buying it tomorrow and although we have worked out a price of $16,400 I am seriously on the fence.

The only reason I would sell it because of a few exterior cosmetic imperfections I've noticed throughout ownership plus I really want a manual transmission. Although the car has no accidents on record, has been thoroughly pre-purchase inspected by Infiniti, I am aware that it has been painted in a few spots and the front and rear bumpers don't line up perfectly. Also noticed all four rims have been painted. Most likely due to road rash I suspect.

If I were to sell it I would want another G37S in a manual transmission. Most likely a used 2011 or 2012.

Aside from putting new, very expensive tries on this car I haven't had to do much else to it. The car looks brand new, comes with R2C intakes, lowered front springs, tinted windows.

Does $16,400 sound exceptional? Should I keep it, sell it? I'm afraid later on I may not see that kind of money and not necessarily sure I wanna spend the extra money just for a manual transmission for the same exact car. I only owe $8k so plenty of equity toward another one.

Really dunno what to do but any advice I would appreciate.

I'd sell it in a heartbeat! That's a great price you're getting! And you can get a very nice G for that price as well!

Either keep it long term, or sell it for a great price and grab the 2012 to avoid potential engine issues on the

Thanks guys! You have helped me make a decision I could not make alone! I also looked at the Audi A5 coupe, BMW 335i (but already had two) and I keep coming back to the G37. Its just so damn pretty and I hope I'm making the right decision selling this thing for the same car in a manual, a few years newer.

If driving a 6MT brings more joy to your heart than the few thousand dollars in switching costs, go for it! Just be sure you have repair funds (hint: csc failure). $16.4k for an '08 is rather generous, but I'd ask your buddy if you can keep the intakes.

Sell and get something newer but try to pay cash for the next car. Loans are for suckers.

..I would sell it and test drive a bunch of cars because moving from a car to the exact same car might be a bit boring. If at the end you still want the G37 then you wont feel like .. what did I just do? I bought the same car just for more money...?? The only primary difference is going to be the manual transmission and that is not worth 5 to10k.

Switching from an automatic to a manual even if it is the same car is going to make a huge difference. OP originally stated that he's always wanted the manual which means ever since owning this car he has never had the full amount of pride in it. Getting a couple years newer model as well as a manual transmission will definitely be worth it. And the amount that you're getting for this car is extremely generous so I say go for it.

Thanks Guys! I've already been through two G35's and one G37 so I know I'll want another one. Plus, I know I'm getting thousands more for this car than I should be. Next time, I want to stay within a mid $20s range with around 40-45k miles (2011-2012) so the Audi doesn't really fit that category as they have much higher miles for the price tag. No interest in the 350z. Also had my share of BMWs and Mercedes (don't want the maintenance and I'm not buying American) I want to stay with coupe MT so that pretty much leaves the G37 at this point within this range.

LET HIM HAVE IT!

He is giving you over Excellent KBB value. The car is coming up on 10 years soon. Low mileage yes, but you will be working against time of failing components due to rubber/seals dry rot.

Take that money, and invest in a "polished" engineered 2011 or better. I hear that 5 speed auto isn't really the best compared to the 7AT at a minimum. But of course, 6MT ftw! Just my 2 cents.
