be careful when purchasing mounts.. ive had a friend purchase one from ebay and the backing plate was thinner than the license plate..
he decided to return before mounting it to be safe and picked up another..

Yea, the dealer that sold my car to me decided to drill holes in the front bumper, so I'm stuck with it now.

Oh well, it doesn't really look that bad IMO, but I'm in Texas so I'm used to most cars having front license plates. A drill-less plate holder would have been much nicer though. :/

It's both! You fix it and you pay a "processing fee". I think it's $25, no point on record though. Still B.S.

Perhaps the no front plate advocates in this thread should be reminded that there is reason for this requirement in many states. Basically it enhances law enforcement efforts by allowing the police to view oncoming traffic in addition to following traffic that under certain conditions doubles their ability to spot suspicious traffic, including kidnappers, bank robbers, and child molesters.

In our self-seeking efforts to make our G’s “look” better it may be appropriate to keep this in mind.

Nice to hear

Be glad this wasn't in Illinois (the broke state) cause out here it's a $120 for first offense with no front plates and it's considered a moving violation thus for points are deducted from your license. If it's a parking violation it still deducts points from the regesitered owner.

Second offense is $500 plus court fees (~$680)
Third offense is $1000 plus court fees plus your plates will be suspended until all fees are paid (~$1350)

However 99% you'll get a warning the first time and informed of the law regarding this matter..... Never personally have I known or heard anyone I know made it to the second offense.

I got a parking citation in SF for not having front plates. Meter not expired or anything, just got me on the plates. $121 but I fixed it and went to CHP and just payed the $10 fee.
