g37s coupe tint removal

Hi,

Has anyone removed tint on their coupes? I just bought my G and it came tinted, I don't really like it.

Yeah, way too dark. At night time, I'm always afraid I might hit a pedestrian coming from the side because my side windows are soo dark. Also I think it's illegal to have front tints in california. =(

How ever could you not like it!? white with dark tint is classic. Now legal issues are a different story.

What some people just refuse to admit, going dark does hamper night time vision. I can understand the OP's concern. Just google it, I'm sure there are tons of DIY out there. I would be worried about the rear window though as to not damage the defrost wires.

Probably just a razor blade and something to clean the windows. Maybe call a tint shop and see what they recommend. I have my sides tinted too and it takes some getting used to but I think yours are darker than mine...looks like you might have 15% or even 5% on there which is real dark. I have 20% all the way around and it looks great...light shines in during the day but at night its fairly dark. I am used to it so I wouldn't say dangerous but if you are not comfortable..by all means get it off

Heat gun. That's the most important part so the glue comes off nicely. Heat the vinyl and then pull it off the glass slowly. Use a razor lads to get the excess glue off.

Be careful on removing the rear. I bought a CPO that had tinted windows prior but the tint was removed. The rear defrost lines were malfunctioning - likely as a result of the tint removal. Fortunately the rear glass was replaced under warranty. However, if out of warranty, that rear glass is expensive brand new + install
