End of warranty and g37 reliability

My 2011 g37sx coupe warranty is about to expire. It has 58,000kms (approx 40,000 mi). I'm debating buying an extended warranty as its approx $2500 here in Canada for 3 years / 118,000 kms (approx 80,000mi). I'm curious as to what kind of repairs/expenses others have experienced with their cars in that mileage range so I can figure out if it's worth the cost. To date I've only had one minor thing fixed on warranty, the car has been trouble free. BTW this is a non-nav.

Not sure how its in Canada but I believe in the US it's almost useless? Even if you have warranty, dealers will usually still charge you out the ****.

I'm sure there are people that got lucky and got things done for free. I'd rather to go a local that you trust and get it done.

Long term reliability and cost of ownership is why i got this car over its German competitors. I tend to keep cars well over 100k miles

I am hoping reliability is great as well I hear great things, but I am planning on getting an extended warranty. On most average cars its not worth the extended warranty. But parts and labor on infiniti g37s can be expensive so for that rare problem that might arise, it may not be a bad idea. And if yours is pre 2012 you could have the catastophic gasket blowing issues that several people in this forum had resulting in big repair bills.

I've has my 2012 G37 coupe, for almost a year now (not long I know), and no problems and I'm hoping it stays that way. Only thing I have experienced is some rubbing/squeaking sound from the dash from time to time and then it goes away.

If it makes you feel better I know an owner with a 2009 sedan who has 200,000 miles on the clock, with basically no problems, and only cost being tires and brakes, normal wear stuff. - which is what swayed me to get this car.

Just my 2cents.

I've had my 2012 G37 Sedan purchased new since August 2012. Very reliable.
Other than oil, oil filter, Air and cabin filter changes and the original set of OEM tires it has been trouble free at 63k miles.

My previous 06 G35 6 sp manual was also very reliable at 171796 miles when I traded it in.

To be honest I'd skip the warranty. I've been impressed with how reliable my 2008 G37s has been. In 3 years and about 25k miles my G has been trouble free. I've only done regular maintenance, fluids, tires and brakes. In comparison in makes my other car, a 2008 Porsche 911 Targa look very unreliable.

I am at 250,000 miles on my other vehicle, the G35 and no major problems. very little fixed after the warranty expired.

At 77k miles, my 08 coupe is problem free. But you can never be too careful. I'd say go for the warranty, you can never be to safe/sure and there's no harm to it.

I bought my G with a 100K bumper to bumper for 1800.00. The price of one repair nowadays can easily exceed 1K, and god knows it could go far higher. Nowadays I don't think you can own a luxury car without one. If you have money in the bank and want to play the odds you may beat the odds, it is a great car. If you want piece of mind though buy the warranty and drive carefree like I do.

He is already at 50K, you only have 25K. I don't think you know what the future holds based on your 25K of ownership. Most cars are very reliable for the first 25k or 3 years, it's only later problems and issues pop up. Get the extended warranty while you still can. Just make sure It's an A rated company!!

'08 G37S, 51k miles, 6MT and zero issues. i'd skip the extended warranty for sure. Especially if you have any DIY abilities. Really, how many things could go wrong to justify that expense, that you couldn't repair on your own? for me, not many at all
