TPM warning this time.....
Hey Everyone,
So this afternoon, after driving for about a good 1hr and 10 minutes (averaging about 70-75mph) my TPM warning light started flashing. It flashed for about 1 minute and became a solid TPM light for another minute. As I exited the freeway and came to a slower speed (about 40-45mph), the light disappeared while still on the freeway off ramp.
I then pulled into a gas station and measured all 4 of my tire pressures with two different digital tire pressure gauges. In both sets of readings, all my tire pressure ranged from 36psi to 37 psi.
After checking all my tire pressures and not seeing anything that I can regard as a hazard to drive, I got back on the freeway and drove another 20miles before reaching home. The TPM light did not come on during the last 2o miles.
IS this an indication of a faulty TPM sensor or is their something wrong with my tires? I had switched out my tires for brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport Max Performance Tires.
Not sure what to make of the TPM light coming on by flashing, then going solid and then turning off.. What do you guys think about this?

I had the same issue and dealer said it was the TPM battery. They said the batteries are supposed to last a "lifetime" and since I was still under my 100,000 mile warranty they replaced all 4.

Could it be a slow leak? The sensor could have read the tire at a certain pressure but once the tires heated up the pressure reading increased which made the light go off. Just a thought. My light came on today but apparently I had a 2" screw in my tire

@Black Betty: I really hope the dealer didnt damage it during the new tire install. That is just annoying.
@mjundo: Good to know, I will check with the dealer on this and hopefully they will replace it regardless.
@Evil-G-nius: I doubt its a slow leak. I've been monitoring my tire pressure every day since the TPM light came on (with 2 digital Tire Pressure Meters). My tire pressures ranges from 35psi (before driving) to 32 psi (after driving for an hour). This has been consistent for the last two days. If there was a slow leak, the tire pressure should be below 35 psi by now right?
@Telcoman: Oh yikes! I actually replaced my stock tires recently due to nail puncture too. In my case, the TPM light never came on since it wasn't punctured all the way.
Thank you all for the help in put. I am assuming there is no danger in driving on my tires until the next oil change right? I am manually checking the pressures before every drive right now. Won't have time to stop by the dealer until next oil change.
