If the 370z was an option, why the G37S?
As others have already said in this thread, I just couldn't commit to a 2 seater.
Also the luxuriousness of the G and all it's other features.
The G is a very comfortable car. Road trips are enjoyable.
The G doesn't stand out and draw the attention that a 370Z does. Cops, ricers, teenage drivers etc.
And I snowboard, so having the trunk and fold down rear seat to put all my gear in is nice.
Having said all that, I still want a 370Z.

I liked the backseats and also the interior. Road trips are fun and I dont have to hear my wife going on about how its inconvenient.
The way i see it is this, she gets her 4 seats in the car and I get my 2 door coupe. I see it as a compromise.

Fair enough, win/win situation.

I like the practicality of the 4 doors. Swore I'd never get another coupe after the camaro. This may or may hold true in the future. I did test drive a number of new and used 370z's. Many exhibited rattles (new cars too). Very limited interior space unless you're very small in stature. The G sedan isn't huge but seems to be just the right size.
I like having a full frame around the door windows. Very few coupes offer this.

at the time... i didnt want a roadster..... now? i would've been fine with it. why? because i'm 6'3" and no one sits in my back seat. i wouldve modded it the exact same way also.... maybe after i get another DD i'd sell this (if offer sounds nice enough) and get a 370z
I bought a 350Z in 2005 by 2012 my children were having children (I'm 66). We had an SUV also but there were times I would have to take care of a grand child or 2. I needed a car with a back seat. It was not a hard choice to buy a G37 convertible. Same zip upgraded interior, and a hardtop that folds down. I do miss the Z but the G is soooo much smoother on the road (old bones).
I chose it due to visability. i have always loved the Z line even since it launched when i was in high-school. I remember test driving a 240 or 260 i believe. The reason i biught a RX-7 over it was the seat position gave little to no visibility in the front and rear. it seemed like the seat was in a hole tilted way back and i couldnt see over the hood. it made the visibility out the back less than perfect as well. so i chose the RX-7 then. when the newest body style came out for the Z i love it. looks great and i love the wide rearend, reminds me of a girl i dated once but that is another high school story. When i went to test drive the new one i found that they stayed true to the originals. same seating position and same concerns for me. so i chose the G. It is a great looking car though.

Like others, I wanted a back seat. Not that I need one, but at 23 and having a nice car, I didn't my self driving more people around than I'd like. DD'ing drunks around, I prefer to drove my own car and not other people's nasty cars. Plus I like the exhaust note!
I got a sweet deal on a mint 2011 and I literally could not pass it up. I was actually in the market for a 335i and was going to look at a 335is dct, but stopped at one of the dealerships I've worked for and left with the g37 haha. It was a smart move on my part, I got an extended warranty with allstate, a very very very low car note with a stupid low monthly rate. While my g35 had issues, she always started and the few times she didn't after 70k very hard miles, she was not too expensive to repair.
I checked other dealerships for 370s before signing the final papers but all had more miles, less options, older, and more expensive. Do I regret it no. I will probably always own at least one Nissan, after my previous experience with vw. I love euros and will own one again, excluding vw, but I will have a Nissan in the garage.

All of us seem to have had some sort of a similar thought process when we purchased our G's. Although I never considered visibility as an issue for me. I used to be against having or needing backseats, but it's kind of a great feeling when everyone wants to hope in your car lol
Take the G or the 370 Z but lose the GF.....The worst thing about the car ? It breaks..Worst thing about the GF , She breaks YOU! No one should TELL anyone what car to drive....HEED the warning junior ...some of us have been there and we didn't listen. If you don't listen, she'll have your car and your house and your money later on...but you will be gone.
