Car wraps

Hey, searched around and didn't find any threads about this. Has anyone wrapped the exterior of their G? I want to try a different color on my G but I don't want it to be permanent. Any experience with this?

No experience yet. But I did go to my local car wrapping shop the other day to get some quotes.

The high end stuff (like chrome colors etc) cost $2000 for full body wrap. The upper mid grade stuff (like colors with mettalic accents etc) can run between $1500-1800.
The cheapest versions like basic matte colors or normal colors can run from $1000-$1400. These are small town prices. I don't know what a place like 180customs would charge. Possibly the same or possibly 50% more.

I do know if you go up to a wrap shop they usually have tons of cool samples that you can move over to the front of the sample pack and see what they would look like underneath an image of a car that has a transparent body. So you can kinda get an idea of what it might look like on your ride. I gave 3 sample books on loan right now.

Excellent. Thanks Redfire22. I plan on saving up some cash and going with a normal color. I want to protect the paint as much as possible (after a respray of a few areas). Maybe a nice deep blue.

That's funny I keep going back to the blues every time. Even when I find a sweet titanium brushed copper or some other metallic matte orange/green whatever...I always end up drifting back to the blues.

These are my finalists. Tell me what you guys think.

It might be difficult to see in the pics, but some of these colors have a really great mettalic sparkle to them and would be extremely unique wrapped around anyone of our G's. Talk about a standout from the crowd mod.

They should be available now. Turns out if you post a pic on IG just to share it on nyG37 it won't stay up on the site if you delete it on IG.

If anything I'd pick the light blue on last picture. Should check google images for convertible G's in different colors if you need more options.

I am a fan of the left pic #1 too. That's the deep blue I am looking for. When you wrap your car, take some pics for us!

If I can raise the funds without my wife knowing (or even better with my wife knowing) then I'll probably have it done.

I've got from just getting a convertible G37 with low miles......

To deciding to get all the power mods for my G (and getting them).....

To deciding to get an IPL front bumper, then front splitter.....

To deciding to go ahead and get the IPL side skirts w side splitters....

To saying F it and doing all my exterior mods, ie midnight grill, headlight mod, spoiler....

To potentially getting a full body wrap lol.

BEWARE THE MODDING BUG newbies!!! BEWARE!!!

It is an oil slicked, heavily greased, wearing banana peels for shoes while its raining slope!! Lmao!! I'll be driving 5 hours to R/T tuning PA next week just for a dyno EcuTek tune. Only had my car for a little over a year and have done more mods on it than on any of my other vehicles combined

Oil slicked, heavily greased, wearing banana peel shoes in the rain kinda slippery slope!!!! Lmfao.

Why do you have to drive to get the Ecuteck done? I haven't done a ton of research (just wnough to know I want Ecuteck) but I thought they mailed it to you and they did the tunes over emails????

Post the link to your build thread on here jroyalty plz. I'd love to go check it out. I've had my car for a little over/under a year and I'm in the same boat as you! It's pricey and time consuming...and the wife doesn't love it....but F it its my money and I'm taking her shopping today in Memphis (and we are making an unscheduled stop to buy some IPL sides n splitters lol).

Hahaa, best way I've found to compensate the wife for money spent, take her shopping I like how you worked the stop for splitters in... it takes years of practice, form improvement, and attention to detail to pull those kind of moves off on the overly suspicious spouse lol!! Fortunately the wife has been becoming more and more supportive of this hobby, especially since it keeps me out of trouble, so I can get away with more in between shopping sprees . Unfortunately I haven't done a build thread, I didn't think I would get this carried away lol and almost the whole thing would be retrospective, however it may be time...also I've seen Rochester scolding people for their inaccurate sigs, it may be time to get that done as well lmao!!
