Motordyne E370 vs. FI exhaust

Hello! I'm super excited because I have finally saved enough to purchase my first performance mod. I'm looking at a new exhaust to get rid of that God awful exhaust rattle on my 08 journey. After weeks of reviews, sounds clips, videos, and research I cannot make up my mind on either the motordyne E370 shockwave catback exhaust or the catback FI exhaust. I would like to see opinions from you all! This is my first car I've purchased and my first actual performance mod.

Yup. Motordyne loud and aggressive, FI refined and more muscular.

Also, 3 month wait for Fast Intentions (), motordyne 1-2 weeks ()?

Fast intentions also a bit cheaper?

Decisions Decisions.

You nailed the descriptions of the sounds with the respective brands correctly!!! Lol.

Personally i would go motordyne!! I've heard both in person, while in the passenger seat and motordyne sounds the best! I'm about to order one myself or hopefully find one locally.

Yeah starting to lean more towards motordyne. I was looking at ARK but wasn't digging the rasp.

Since you are in L.A. I would recommend you to go out to car meet to hear them in person

I have no one to go with, I've been wanting to go but I don't know anyone who would go with me and I'd feel awkward going alone haha

Not today it isn't. ARK is having a "gold rush sale" , reducing the price on the Coupe exhaust by $450. I suppose I'm reading that right. Wow.

Infiniti G37 Coupe | GRiP Catback 2008-ON | 3.7L, RWD

Fast Intentions

If I had a Coupe, and I were in the OP's position, and the ARK Grip were at today's price with a turn-around in weeks instead of months (Fast Intentions)... that makes the ARK Grip a pretty compelling option.

All that aside, I've heard and driven both, and I own the FI. The ARK is far more raw, like a muffler-delete, whereas the FI is more refined and almost exotic sounding. And the Sebring Tuning components on the FI exhaust are freaking gorgeous, compared to the ricey parts on the ARK. All in all, the FI is worth the wait, IMO.

$1169 for the Ark. Nice eye John.

If your at all interested in the Ark system it's time to go for it.

I've only heard the FI system in person, but it's really nice. Deep. Powerful. Sounds like sex tbh. I say either do the wait time or buy a used FI on the classifieds.

But Kuro's idea has been the best one so far. You live in Cali...sack up and go to a meet. Take a chick with you if you gotta
Your first power mod being the exhaust it's gonna be one of the more expensive mods. You may want to listen before shelling out a grand min.
That being said I bought my Fast Intentions setup without hearing it in person. Still makes me smile every single time I turn on the car. Sounds like a dragon waking up when you hear it roaring to life in my garage. Freaks my little boys out!

I was leaning towards the Ark initially. I liked the sound, not too loud. And the quality is very good.

However, I noticed how low the cans sat. Also noticed that almost every time I saw a used Ark Cat-back for sale - The cans were scraped.

I plan on lowering soon, but don't want to worry about the exhaust scraping on every speed bump and driveway.

I'm leaning towards Fast Intentions now.

Maybe I am wrong about the Ark lowness. Let me know.

I've never really heard of any complaints of rasp with the Ark either.

Only "complaints" I have read about is the Ark is not loud enough and the cans sit too low.

yeah my ARK sits kinda low but I have no complaints on the sound at all. I was always under the impression that ARK is actually one of the louder options at least it is for the sedan

Component height of the cans & tips is one of the reasons I passed on the ARK.

Another is the non-stop noise, which is so-o-o sexy, but crazy loud. Like, the-neighbors-will-hate-you kind of loud.

Another is the stupid looking ricer tips. And although tips can always be hacked off and replaced, it's an expense and added hassle.

Another is the impression I developed from research about fitment, where the FI is spot-on with laser like precision, and the ARK is more like your typical aftermarket exhaust.

And yet another was that the ARK was just a little more expensive... although that's certainly not an issue with their current sale.

I do plan on lowering my G so ark is out of the question plus I personally do not like the sounds ARK gives but again that's just my thought. I'm actually going to be going to a local meet this week to see if anyone has the FI and Motordyne catback. From there I may make a decision. From this thread I see FI is favorited, guess I will have to wait and see!
