Trying to find the impossible? Blue Slate G37xs Coupe
Yeah I guess I'll just hold out until one comes to market. Considering a Q60 costs over 50k I'm certainly not ordering one of them, I'd rather buy a used GTR with that kinda coin.
If I can find an xS in white or red for a great deal, I will take a look but in the meantime I'll just wait for my blue slate to appear one day
.
The one I looked at was almost purple to a degree. I like the look of both of these:

Malbec black has more of a red/pearl metallic flake in it. I like that color as well but its still black. I mean in both the pictures above, both being blue slate, neither look slightly purple to you?
Blue Slate is the color I have and it really is quite amazing how wide the color range is. Over the last year and a half I've been trying to learn photography in my free time and I have taken at least 2,500 pictures of my car. I'm starting to look back through my photos to try and figure out why a few pictures look outstanding and others not so much. While doing this, I have noticed the car looks like a different color every time I do a little "photo shoot". There are so many variables that change the way the pictures look. I have photos of my car in a variety of different shades of gray, light blue, dark blue, and purple.
A few of those variables are:
The weather (clear or cloudy)
Day or night
Angle of the Sun in relation to the camera and car
Products used on the vehicle
I almost want to say temperature (but that would sound crazy)
Before I bought the G, I was configuring my build on Infiniti's website, I ended up thinking that I was going to get one of the darker graphite colors...then at the dealership...I saw her...the
Blue Slate!!!
I love my blue slate, unfortunately had to settle for a regular X model. I couldn't find an XS either. It looks so much better when you turn the chrome to black too. Agree with Midlifecrisis, the color is always changing with different types of light, my personal favorite is a cloudy day with some drizzle, has a nice grayish look.
At night I've mistaken blue slate for gray... But I'm a gray fan. Shows the details in the spoiler and side effects the best. Enjoy your G37x... I just drove 2600 mile round trip to Florida / Iowa and back. Awesome drive. Got 26.3 mpg going down and 23.6 coming back. That's about $100 bucks each way with todays gas prices! Not sure I would have made it in a G37xS, with the 19" wheels and stiffer suspension. My color is Infiniti KAD Gun Metallic. Car is dirty in pics from an hours drive in rain.

The purchase price of a new Q60 with sport/nav and all that would be well under $50k, probably low $40's. A $50k GT-R is very unlikely and it would be a high mileage salvage without any warranty at that price.
How about this one?
2012 Infiniti G37 x, $25,998 - Cars.com
Gone. I went back to check the interior and it was gone.
But it was a blue slate G37xS, Nav and premium. 2012. for $25,988 up in Natick MA. Herb Chambers Motorcars.

That G37xs at Cambers Motors was involved in an accident with airbag deployment. As of now I think there is only ONE blue slate XS for sale in the entire united states lol and its been involved in a collision.
I'm just going to wait it out and snag the first one of these babies that comes to market. The more you guys talk about the color, the more I tell myself its worth the wait.
Possibly, but black and silver seem to be really common colors, so you could probably get one for a few grand less, especially if you're searching country-wide, and are planning to travel for it. In other words, you could probably find a better car for less money if you open up your search. And then if you want it to be a different color, take the best car out there (for what you're looking for, regardless of color) and paint it the color you want! As for devaluing, it's not like these are collector cars where people do VIN lookups to ensure the car for sale is exactly as the car left the factory. It's an Infiniti, not a Ferrari. And cars in general make very poor investments, at least ones that can be had for $20K. Anyway, my point is that it's only impossible if you make it impossible. If you want a blue slate XS, it's totally possible.
