Tanabe Medalion..Finally
I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the Tanabe Medalion axle-back exhaust for my coupe. I've been itching for quite some time to get one but couldn't decide on which system. I had the magnaflow cat-back for my previous coupe and loved it back in 2009. Wanted to try out something different without having to rack up the list of aftermarket parts on my leased car. This seemed to be the best option in terms of it being just an axle-back rather than a full cat-back. I'm not looking for huge gains or anything, just a nice clean deep sound with nice tips. Should be getting it installed by weeks end. Been putting coats and coats of metal polish and sealant on the cans and tips before I subject it to the harsh New England salt/sand treated roads. Pics to come shortly, anyone else have good experience with Tanabe? pointers, do's and dont's?
Love my Tanabe. Install was a minor pain due to corroded bolts fusing the muffler to the cat pipes on mine... but once you get your stock muffler off, the Medallion install is seamless. Plus it instantly looks and sounds much better than stock! PM me if you have any questions during install.
I love the sound of this but I seriously can't see paying almost the same amount as a cat back just for two mufflers. Glad you are happy though, I know they will sound bad *** and the fitment is perfect

I have the Tanabe mid pipe and axle back on my AWD coupe. I love the sound. Unfortunately, Tanabe doesn't make the X pipe for the AWD coupe, only for the RWD one. If you get all three pieces, you're probably looking at around $2,000. As far as I can tell, Tanabe quality is top notch. The mid pipe and axle back were made in Japan.
Tanabe Medalion Touring - Black G37S Coupe
Installed today! Great fitment and excellent construction. The sound is louder than stock but not by much. Lower more pronounced tone which is noticeable at idle, sounds nice at 3k and really wakes up at 4500 RPM and up!

looks good
