Just ordered a knob
Just ordered a ****
Just ordered my TMW big type R shift ****. satin finish, cant wait! hope taking my stock **** off wont give me as much trouble as everybody else. any pointers?
You're lucky it came off so easily. Mine took two guys and a pair of giant pipe wrenches. I could only turn the **** 1/4 around with each effort, and it wasn't an insignificant effort, let me tell you.
This is what happened to the OEM ****:

But that's OK, because this is what replaced it:

Gorilla, where's the trim ring on that new ****? I don't see one in that pic.
In other shift-**** related topics, I've decided to purchase a similar **** before next winter, but this next one made out of Copolymer. The Titanium **** is beautiful, but when temps are below freezing, it's positively brutal to the touch. You have to wear a glove, all the time.
FYI for anyone who is thining of getting a solid aluminum or titanium ****, and lives where it gets seriously cold. Brr-r-r-r-r.

yeah, I currently do not have a trim ring, however shortly after I took this pic I went to home depot and bought a small black rubber bushing to go over the exposed shift stick so it keeps the shift boot stationary instead of sliding up and down. looks just fine now. and yeah Im sure it gets cold but check this out for hot/cold days

just go to any liquor store and buy the sample sized crown royal.
if I was to entertain the idea of a nice shift **** finisher to seamlessly bring the boot and **** together what would yall recommend? preferably a color that would match my satin finish....
LatheWerks would mill that for you. Shoot him an email with the diameter at the base of your TMW.
hummm? wonder how that would look. see how rounded the bottom of my **** is? wonder if I should go with a tapered finisher like yours or just go with like a straight shaft piece.
