Crash, burn then rise from the ashes

Okay, not so much "crash." My wife was backing out of the garage in her jeep, couldn't see my G and didn't realize I'd parked there until....yep...crunch. Front bumper, toast. Left headlight, trashed. Left fender, panel, nothing a little elbow grease didn't fix. After the pissed off pity party ended I took the opportunity to replace both lights, painting the housings in the garage and doing the TSX lens swap. Went with the IPL bumper this time - thanks OC Infiniti - great price! Painted the chrome bezels to match the Stillen grille. Swapped out wheels for Vossens with 32/38 offsets. No spacers, and running 285/245 stagger. Pretty damn flush! Will probably need a 5mm front spacer when the new pads tighten the caliper clearance. Last change was getting a 4.08 geared LSD from one of our experienced forum members. Shout out to Kevin! Hope to install in the next 1-2 weeks. So all that to say thanks to my wifey. Revenge is a dish best served cold...and with a few additional mods beyond necessary repairs.

If you have a sport coupe with the akebono callipers the new pads won't change/tighten the clearance of the callipers. Don't worry about that. Looking good!

Looks like he might still have the base floating calipers, not sure from the pic

At any rate, your G is looking really good, everything you've done really goes well together, hats off

Yeah, they're Akebonos but check this out. On the last set of wheels the caliper clearance was danger-close. I'm talking an 1/8th of an inch if that. Could be my imagination but seemed that the gap increased as the pads wore down. No worries. The Hawk ceramics are coming up on two years old and still biting good. The other poster mentioned the dip on top of the Stillen. More noticeable from a side angle. I'll deal with that next, and then the diff. I still have the midnight black grille that I swap out with.

Lt8Che...were you in stealth mode? I don't see many Gs in that big ol' lot. Came out one day and had a business card in my window from the San An Infiniti Club (SAIC). I assumed it was Mike Doerr. Are you in the group?

Many of your 8,800 posts helped me along the way too. So THANK YOU for all you've contributed to the community! Modding can be frustrating with it's 2nd and 3rd order effects. Change one thing and often that one change causes a domino effect that you did not anticipate, financially and otherwise. So again, thanks for inserting your insights into the various threads.

Thanks for the kind words, I had plenty of people that I asked for help so don't mind doing the same.

As far as the calipers, probably just a paranoia thing unless there was something not properly torqued down. Fixed calipers shouldn't have any play, some of the Subaru STiRs w/ Brembos have just a couple mm to the spokes. Should be fine w/ 1/8"

BTW, how are you liking those TSX-R lenses? The cutoff and overall look is worth every penny IMO.

Probably was a paranoia thing, lol. More breathing room with the Vossens now. Gotta tell ya that the TSX-R mod was time well spent! One of the aluminum rings was a PITA, but I'd say that anybody planning to crack their headlights open to paint/replace bulbs, etc, should plan ahead and do this too. Sweet cutoff!

I was in a GOV haha. The business card was back when we were SA G's and I'm pretty sure I dropped that card or Jon could have. I founded the group, haha.

I am also thinking of the splitter, any reason why your changing it?

This is my 2nd option. I just like the splitter because of how much more aggressive it looks. A lot of people don't like the buckle on the splitter but I do. BTW GREAT looking car!!!!

Honestly...after the splitter, she will be done "again" lol.

And my only reason for changing up on the bumpers is I had the aero bumper for a year, and just feel that it is seriously over played. Every G looks the same out there now because of it. So I went back to the old school 08-10 sport bumper (which sits more even down below with the aero side skirts) and a stillen splitter
