G37x vs G37xS coupe

I've tried finding some good threads on this but couldn't find any directly related to the x and xS coupes. I want personal experiences, is it really worth the upgrade. I recently bought my g37x and I love it but I'm having a little buyers remorse that I didn't hold out and try to find an xS.

Is it worth a trade in for a few extra k?

You would be better off putting that money into mods.

I completely disagree, I had both and I will tell you that it is well for it for the s package. The steering feel is better, the brakes are amazing, and you can really feel the tighter suspension on the turns. And don't forget about the upgraded looks I personally think the new 19s are better than most after market choices, top it all off with a nice bumper that adds a lot to the look. I think it is well worth it.

What alexy626 said, plus the sport seats. The seats fit me well. Plenty of adjustments to tweak and the thigh extenders.

Hands down, no question get the s. If you like the x, the s handles better, looks better, the seats is literally the reason i bought an s. Definitely worth the money you wont regret it.

I used to have a 2008 rwd coupe. Now I have a 2011 xS coupe. The xS is worth the extra money. I think the xS is a better deal than even the IPL. I can turn my xS into an "AWD IPL" by changing out the bumpers and side skirts. On the other hand, I cannot put the AWD into an IPL in a cost effective way.

I'm with the other guys. I searched high and low for an XS and I'm glad I did. Looks better, handles better, and you get the best of both RWD and AWD functionality.

I also noticed the center console screen is a huge improvement, including the quality of the backup camera. I have a 2011 xs coupe, my buddies I was comparing to is a 2012 x sedan.

note that the xS coupe gets the big brakes, where the xS sedan does not

I really like the sport seats, but I don't think they would be good for anyone wider than me (6'3, 185#)

Whoahhhhh, pump the brakes there kid.

The IPL is more than just an aesthetic upgrade. There are other things that a "bumper swap" won't upgrade.

Like an extra 18 hp? It's still the same 3.7L V6 engine. Big whoops!

I don't think I'm the only one around here who thinks that the IPL is more cosmetic than performance-oriented. And it's a very expensive cosmetic upgrade. Why don't you tell me something on the IPL that is vastly superior to the S coupe...Most people think that it is vastly overpriced for what it is. It is not equivalent to BMW's M, Audi's S, or Mercedes Benz's AMG.

I used to go gaga over the IPL. I'm glad I ended up with my xS coupe instead. The AWD is way more useful for me where I live than the extra 18hp and IPL bumpers.

I like the S because I like the toys.

Memory seats, back-up camera, illuminated door sills; fun stuff!

Better brakes, steering and handling make a real difference, too...

You are misinterpreting what I said. You cannot just swap the bumpers on any G37 and call it an IPL. An IPL refers to a fairly specific set of modifications from Infiniti that they feel warrants an additional badge. I didn't say it was worth the cost, nor did I suggest that it cannot be improved on. I only said that a bumper swap does not give you an IPL.

I would tentatively suggest that my car is quite a lot faster than an IPL, I've improved on just about every single "performance" mod that Infiniti made between the G37s and the IPL. Does that mean I get to call it an IPL? Nope.

Uhhh....If you read my original comment carefully, you would have seen that I said "AWD IPL." I put quotation marks around AWD IPL, which doesn't really exist. I may like the IPL rear bumper and side skirts, which I will eventually put on my xS, but it doesn't mean that I'm also gonna put that IPL badge on my car. I'm no ricer. Thank you very much.

I have the 11 xS coupe and love it. I had an 04 35 6mt before and waited until the xS coupe came out and then bought the first one I could get my hands on!
