I thought I had lost my phone. I had put it in the cup holder on the console and now it was gone. I looked everywhere. My wife found it. If you look in the cup holder towards the back, there is a space just big enough for something to fall in. There was my phone and it is the devil to get out. Just thought I would pass this along. Maybe everybody already knew this.

 

The same thing happened to me. I set my phone on top of then upholder cover. My wife opened it (not realizing my phone was sitting there) and it was dumped in there.

Something else disappeared after that (don't remember what it was), but then I remembered how easily something could slip in there. Sure enough, that's where it was.

 

It happens..i would just call let it ring. Happens a lot.

I've had the car since 09 and I have no idea what you guys are talking about. What compartment are you guys referring to?

 

I have no clue what they are referring to either... I've never lost my phone in the cup holder.. Are you guys missing the insert for the cup holder? Even at that I don't think there is a hole large enough for the phones to fit into.

 

In a 2012 IPL coupe, there is a space in the cup holder, that is hard to see and big enough to hold a small phone or keys or anything else that happens to fall in. And its a PITA to get it out. I don't know about other years or models, but it's in mine.

 

Do you have auto or manual? I'm not aware of any interior changes over the years.

 

Coming from my Altima to this is a big change. Hardly and room in the glove box or center console. Really have to cut down on what I have.

I think the later modes have a slightly different design of the center console than the 08-09

 

Can we get a pic I'm curious to see what it looks like now. I know auto and manual have slightly different interior but didn't know there were any changes over the years. I have an 6mt so I know for a fact i don't have this hidden compartment now -__-
