from g37 to my new volvo s60 r design

well guys after a few years im going a different direction with cars not that was anything wrong with the g37

we purchased this last weekend its a 2012 volvo s60 r design with the polestar tune. fully loaded with more safety features then i can count, i dont think i could crash it if i tried LOL

i have the g37s still and been trying to sell it,

the volvo has an incredible waranty that covers everything from brake pads, batteries, to free oil changes only thing is not covered are the tires,

the car is a inline 6 with a twin scroll turbo mated to a 6 speed automatic AWD set up, it also has torque vectoring as well. and doesnt require premuim.

we got a great deal on it,

2013 Volvo S60 T6 AWD R-Design First Test - Motor Trend

looking forward to staying around on the forums for a while,

thanks again for all your guys great help you guys are the best !

This car is (was?) a possibility to replace my wifes TL. I love the car, personally, but have heard from a few previous Volvo owners that it tends to turn into a German pumpkin after the warranty ends: $1K for a starter here, $1200 for an alternator there, etc.

My wife wants to keep her cars until kingdom come so I cant risk it, but I really really want to because I love the S60.

Good luck with yours!

thanks chris,

i normally dont own cars for only a few years, this one has 3 years left on the waranty by that time maybe they will have a sweet new q60 coupe out =>

i was at the dealership getting raped for the 2nd key fob 425.00 yesterday !! for a damm key but they were also able to upgrade the TCM to the 2014 model specs, which makes the shifting quicker when in sport mode,

on the down side they dont make @#$#@ for this thing aftermarket wise which makes wife happy LOL

Nice buy
I was looking at these as well. Tested the regular s60 t6 and damn that thing pulls, and it only takes regular octane gas. The R must be way quicker. But as you mentioned the performance mods are very limited.

they have it now you can bring it to a volvo dealership and they will preform a polestar tune on a s60 t-6 for around $1,500.00 and bring it to the r design specs and still under factory waranty,.

Was aware of the polestar tune. From what I gathered, mods were limited to intake or exhaust, not sure if further tuning can be done after.

The upcoming 2015 Polestar is going to be a beast, similar to the 500hp Polestar concept they had for few years now.

Please define "great deal".

Hopefully you did not lease it.

What are the performance specs? 0-60, 1/4 mile, HP, torque...

Do you know what kind of numbers that thing is capable with a more aggressive tune? I would imagine a TT 6 cyl could put out some pretty impressive numbers with the right supporting mods and tune.
