Got rear ended (pics).. Good time for IPL Rear Bumper?

Hey guys,

So i was sitting stopped at a light yesterday, and some teenager was coming up behind me which seemed to be texting failed to stop and hit me in the rear damaging my bumper. I was furious but now that i saw the aero bumper is not too much money this could be a good opportunity for me.

I saw that the rear aero bumper ive always wanted was just above $400 on this website: 2008 G37 Coupe: Aero - Rear Bumper G37/Q60 Coupe - One could say there is something to be said of the unique sense of purpose about the aerodynamic lines of the Infiniti G37/Q60. The integration of a color coordinated rear aero bumper adds a sporty e

And the lady insisted on paying me through cash and i might consider this since the damage is not totally bad.. you cant really see the left pictures damage that well either.. And she broke my Ark License plate frame lol (((

SO what do you guys think of this, about how much would you estimate the damage to cost and if anyone has ordered from this website before i would love to hear your review.. Thanks guys!

I bought my side skirts from sewell infiniti. I think shipping was like 3 or 4 days, it was super fast.

If you do get the aero rear bumper, it will look weird and out of place without the side skirts and front bumper though.

Damage doesnt look too bad in pictures, so its hard to say. I would more than likely leave it lol. If she will strait up pay for the aero bumper though in cash, you might as well get it... worst case you can always resell it.

^^^ He's right, would look out of place just by itself, it's a little flashy on the curves. Damage doesn't look bad but would probably cost more than $400 to repair since you'd have to repaint the whole area.

I never would have agreed to a cash deal ... always call the police, get it on record and let insurance handle payment. To your question ... go the whole kit or nothing.

I had a similar situation in my G35. A person in a truck backed into me at a light. (don't ask an idiot in a big *** truck). It just barely punctured the plastic bumper and scratched the tip of the hood. I think it cost over $2k to fix. They got a whole new bumper and painted the hood and bumper. I had a rental car for a couple days while they did the work. Got to factor all those things into the cost.

Reminds me of being on the LA freeway, a very small rear end tap, and people refuse to move cars, and need to call the police. Causing a backup for 10 miles.

If theres no injury in Los Angeles County police don't bother. They have better things to do.

CHP now pushes the car to the side with their push bars, and leave the scene!!

If someone wants to pay cash instead of insurance, its their right, as long as you get damages fixed.

State Farm just cut me a check for just under 850 bucks for damage that looked alot like that. My bumper cover had a small cut and it broke and scratched the paint. The body shop manager at the Nissan dealership said if they get the cover off and he thinks it needs to be replaced they will be paying more. Good luck.

Just because the person at fault wants to pay cash doesn't mean you as the victim have to accept that. Take pic of their license plate and VIN if you can first thing (plus damage and other car). Ask them for their insurance info, if they refuse inform them you have their other info and if they leave you will call the police saying they left the scene of an accident. Police have to respond to that.

Set your price... Give them a time limit to pay... Go big or go stock...

Sorry about the hit. My front has $3K worth of damage. Check with OC Infiniti too (Orange County Infiniti). Sergio can often beat Sewell's pricing. I've bought from both. JerseyG...give it some more thought. You'll see a lot of coupes in here with IPL/aero front and sides and go a different route (Autokits carbon fiber) on the rear. Why not the IPL rear? Many think that Infiniti got that piece wrong. Too angular. In the end it is personal taste but since you asked the forum...
