Q colors...
Q colors...
I was at an Infiniti dealer today to look at getting a new g. I test drove some new Q coupes and thought about leasing. After speaking with the sales person about options he showed me the color options. And I was very surprised. Every single color has gotten more dull and bland. The blue is boring the red is flat. Thy got rid of the best color a long time ago, Athens blue.
Does anyone else agree?
Oh also they don't make a MT sedan....

Yeah, I mean with that comparison ^^^ its (IMO) now maroon, not red. So they just changed the colors, not made them more dull. But I do agree, the more vibrant colors gave the cars that LOOK AT ME! quality. They really caught your eye, especially that Athens Blue! With that said, I don't think it works so well for a sedan as most see them as more of luxury/daily driver type of car. You want it to look "refined" and going with a more subtle color does that; so this new maroon is perfectly fine with me and I think it looks good.
Sure if your an older driver looking for that daily sedan. But if I'm getting a sport coupe I'd really like some decent color to choose from. Maybe the booklet I was looking at was for sedan, because I didn't see that red

I loved Athens Blue and Vibrant Red. Venetian Ruby is nice... but I don't think it was smart to drop Vibrant Red altogether.
OP- I agree with you... the colors are rather lackluster compared to the selection from earlier years.

Infiniti (and really all Japanese luxury makes) has never consistently done "pretty" vibrant colors. Go to the Audi/BMW websites and look at those colors. Several shades of blue, usually a couple of reds/maroons, and a few whites/blacks.
You can almost predict the Infiniti colors for all of the vehicles:
White
Black
Dark Grey
Silver
Perhaps a sky blue
It's almost appears like laziness with the colors that Infiniti rolls out.

That is a stock 2011+ Sport bumper. And just so everyone is clear... the vert pictured is in the old Vibrant Red and not the new Venetian Ruby.
