2010/2011 g37x reliability?

Hi guys,

I'm a longtime lurker but this is my first time posting in these forums. I've been eyeing the g37x coupe for a LONG time. Now that I'm going to graduate from college, I decided I'm gonna go ahead and get a 2010 or 2011. Being a newly grad, I'm very worried about reliability and maintenence issues for cars. In your opinion, is this car a good car in terms of reliability? Also, this would be my first car EVER, so how do I keep it in good condition? I am planning on getting one with under 50k miles. Thanks all.

Hi welcome. I was in your shoes exactly a year ago. Reliability and maintanence all depends on you really. These cars are built very well and you would have to regularly do maintanence (oil/oil filter/brakes/rotors) to keep up the reliability of your car. Also id advise you not to drive hard all the time, I like spirited driving. That can be a factor to the overall reliability of your car.

Exactly a year ago I bought a 2010X coupe with 26000 miles and I've put about 9000 miles on it now. It runs same as the day I bought it and cannot be anymore happy with it. Then the mod bug bit me, and that's a whole different story.

Thanks for the reply. Yea from what I've heard, they are pretty reliable machines.. I'll definitely be taking care of it. Do you use premium gas in it? Also, what price range did you get that at? The only mods I will be doing are tinting the tail lights and windows, and possibly plastidipping the rims.

I use only premium gas, and Mobil 1 synthetic oil every 4000-4500 miles. I paid 22999$ bc I knew someone at the dealership and they helped me out bc I'm in the army. Haha.

Good mods. I'm telling you that it won't be all you'll be doing. Just saying. Hehe

I thought I'd just be doing tints and new wheels. It's now ipl kit, axle back exhaust, overlays, lowering springs, rfhc's, intakes.... Just to name a few

Nissan/Infiniti makes good stuff. I had a Maxima several years back and had very little trouble with it (a snapped sun roof cable was the only thing, and that was fixed under warranty). My 2011G37x Coupe has been dead reliable. One of the best cars I have ever owned (been driving for over 50 years).

I agree with Redshift, the car is bullet proof.
