Hey guys! have an issue with my car

Hey everybody I'm a little new to this whole forum thing i just had a few questions to see if anyone could help me.

Iv been having a problem with my 2008 g37s coupe, when i drive highway speeds my steering wheel shakes really bad and both seats rumble but only from 80-120 Km/h. Iv checked the tires and rims both are fine, got a wheel alignment and tire balance and still no luck with getting rid of the shake.

Im not really looking to go to the shop and get ****d by nissan atm so was wondering if anyone has had a similar situation and could point me in the right direction. A buddy said could be bushings or control arms but don't really have the money to "guess the problem" approach

Anyone with any suggestions or test i could try to help figure out would be gladly appreciated, sorry if this is already a thread.

Have a good one!

Find a good alignment shop in your area and let them look at it.

1. how old are your tires? 2. do they already have uneven wear? 3. are you stock suspension? 4. does your car go straight or wander when you take your hands off the wheel? Some steps to do are: make sure that all your lug nuts are tight, then take it to a different shop that does high speed tire balance. If your tires are not wearing unevenly then you don't have to worry about alignment I would then look at something in your suspension.

1.The tires have about two seasons on them 30-40 percent treat left 2.They are wearing the same as far as i can tell from using a quarter and measuring they're even 3.yeah i haven't changed anything in the car upgrade wise everything is stock 4.The steering isn't really affected it just shakes bad in ur hand (wearing a watch is even annoying) Ok thank you for the input i will make some calls tomorrow and get suspension checked out

Also check for wheel bearing play. Jack up the car and grab the tire on both sides and shake it, should be no play.

If it is a wheel bearing fix it fast before you trash the hub; that will drive the cost up a bit...

You might have a bent wheel that is not visible. Two of my wheels turned out to be bent but when i took out the wheels to inspect it they all looked straight to me.
Even thought i got my tires rebalanced twice my steering wheel still vibrated pretty bad from 70-80mph. I just got my wheels back from sab's in Houston and everything is smooth again.

If you've had the wheels off at any point recently do yourself a favor and just go around and tighten the lugnuts. Loose lugnuts can cause all sorts of odd noises and vibrations.

As for a wheel bearing, you could jack up the wheel and try spinning it and listen for grinding noises or take the wheel off and inspect the hubs. A bad bearing should be leaking grease or showing signs of rust. Bad bearings will have certain vibration points like youre seeing as well.

Did you try driving slow and swerving back and forth to see if you hear noises in one particular direction?

1. Get your wheels balanced. While a good tech is balancing wheels, he will notice bent/damaged wheels and hopefully separated or otherwise damaged tires.

2. Check for wheel bearing issues with a good tech.

3. Skip the alignment service as a means to resolve this concern. Alignment being out of spec will not cause your car to vibrate as you are driving down the road. There are always exceptions where this could cause a vibe issue, but I sincerely doubt that is the culprit unless something is massively wrong.
