new G37 coupe owner seeking tips

Hi all,
I bought an '08 with very low miles last week and love it. I have searched the forums but have been unable to find the answers o my questions below.

1. What is the best treatment for maintaining the leather seats?

2. On Day Three my wife put her foot through the driver's side speaker cover. A new one is on its way, but how do I get the old one off?

3. There's a little tiny light in the overhead console (beside one of the map lights) that stays on at night. Isn't there a way to shut that thing off? I can't find it even being mentioned in the manual.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Welcome to the forum.

1. I use aromor all wipes
2. Use trim removal tools and the service manual available at Nicoclub, I'll find the link later and post it. You need to remove the door trim, it isn't difficult, a few clips, a few bolts, and it pops off. Undo a few screws and the cover pops off. I had something similar happen to my passenger side speaker grille.
3. That is an accent light, there's no way to turn it off, it just brightens the interior slightly to illuminate the center console and shifter. You might be able to cover it.

Funny you just asked this. i just purchased "Zaino" leather care products. alot of our fellow G members love this stuff, so i decided to give it a try myself. the products you can find at your local auto parts store just dont give me the results im looking for.

Maybe they were doing a little of something else haha

For leather conditioner and cleaner, I've heard leatherique is some really good stuff. I have a set but haven't used it yet.

If that were the case, he already conditioned the leather seats..... Just have to get them cleaned. Haha

Xeno,
Sorry, but she was alone in the car at the time of the crime. We have been married for 29 years and she has managed to wreck every car we've owned except one. I think she just kicked the speaker with her toe getting out of the driver's seat. Madre de Dios! The funny part is that she thinks of ME as the poorer driver.

Thanks for the link, Nguyen.

Cheers,
Matt

U use the Meguiar's Leather conditioner spray. Protects and conditions the leather, pretty good stuff. My seats are in very good condition btw.

Make sure they are Armor All Leather wipes; the stuff made for plastic and rubber will dry leather out real fast...

I would probably splurge on the leather product and stay away from wipes all together. Since you have an 08, I would suggest springing for the Leatherique kit. Who knows how the leather was treated by the previous owner. One treatment with Leatherique and your seats will look and smell like new (matte sheen, less wrinkles, supple feel with protection from cracking). If you ever put anything on your leather and it leaves a shiny finish, find something new. Any product that puts a shiny COATING may APPEAR to be refreshing the leather, but all it is doing is attracting heat and drying out your leather.

This Poor Boy's Leather Stuff is awesome. You'll love how it makes the interior smell. I've never been able to find anything that smells better and like actual leather.

I used to take my car to a place that used this stuff in an unmarked bottle and it literally took me years to figure out what it was.
