Dealership Loaner Car

Hello! I took my G37S in for service last Friday and since they close on weekends, they let me take a brand new QX60 as a loaner. They told me they would call me on Monday so I thought I'd just have the SUV over the weekend but it's been a whole week now. Considering I live in Canada, it's super nice to be able to plow through the snow but I'm slowly starting to get worried.

On one hand, I don't want to call them and inadvertently speed up the process of finishing up the maintenance on my G because I'm thoroughly enjoying the benefits of an SUV, but on the other hand I worry that I would get penalized for holding onto this loaner for so long (it doesn't specify in the loaner sheet that I initialed), which I personally don't think is my fault because they haven't once called me or emailed me.

I'm sure I could legally find my way out of a penalty fee if they do end up throwing me one but does anyone know if this is normal? Any chance they just forgot about my car? Can I just enjoy the loaner they gave me without worrying about any of this?

They want you to stay in the loaner SUV for a while so that you'll come to like it and want to buy one. You can't be charged for the loaner unless they call you to pick up your car and you just ignore them and keep the loaner.

I think you're fine. Trust me, if they want their car back, they know where to find you. They have your phone number, address, and billing information. Give them a call on in the morning and see how the work on your car is going.

Thanks guys, I feel much better. Jokes on them because despite how much I'm enjoying the new car, I still prefer my coupe.

I think you're supposed to bring back the loaner by the next business day after they tell you your car is ready, otherwise you may be charged for each day after that. But since they haven't contacted you... I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure it depends on the dealership, but I've often requested loaner extensions until the next weekend and my dealership has always obliged that request as a courtesy.

i wouldn't worry about it. the techs working at the dealer are enjoying joyriding in your car as much as you are enjoying cruising around in their loaner.

What maintenance are you doing at the dealership? But like the others say..they can't charge you if they're not finished with your vehicle. Enjoy the 4x4

Once I has a loaner for 4 weeks. Nothing like driving a car & not caring if anything breaks.
It's fun driving the loaners, it's one if the reasons to own Infiniti.
You are never without a vehicle.

Loaners and rentals are the best! I drive each and every one of them like I stole it. My wife had her car in the shop so for about two weeks I was sporting around a Cadi' CTS 3.6L. It was a blast!

No worries - I had a Q70x for a couple days a few weeks ago - got to drive it on a heavy snow day too... while my G was getting a wheel bearing replaced.

You have nothing to worry about. I still have a loaner that I got back in early November. The VW dealer still has my car since mid August(8 months ago). I called them this week and they had forgotten about me completely, they are the ones that are going to lose on this one ... Not me. If they don't call to say your car is ready or that they need to swap you to a new loaner ... You have nothing to worry about.

I'd be making road trips.
Nothing beats putting miles on someone else's car.
Usually they do not give them out over the weekend .
However, until your car is ready rock that 4 x 4 & hit every pothole.
Kidding about the last part, but catching air in one is extremly fun.
( Guess how I know, at the time qx56 can take a beating)
