Received it today. Easy install I removed the front bumper which made it a lot easier.

Looks good.

Do those metal brackets serve any other function besides mounting lip to bumper?

Wonder if they'd look better black.

The stillen lip is touted as a "functional part", i.e. it provides actual downforce. In addition to the bolts and 3m tape holding it on, the turnbuckles are supposed to keep the lip from ripping itself off the car.

Ah, I see. So there would actually be downforce pushing down on the front bumper/lip/front of car.

So, you wouldn't want to depend on a couple screws and some double sided tape.

Nice to install parts that look good AND serve a purpose.

True, its functional, it also deflects small road pebbles right to the bumper, you might consider 3M clear bra on the bumper.

That looks pretty good OP

the "stabilizers" or "turnbuckles"...whichever name you call them make the front end look so aggressive.

Nice! But I have seen people put it on without the turnbuckles. Looks much better that way, hear that you just have to drill them in real good to be safe.
