Getting a G37s

Hi all,

I'm getting a 2008 G37s - 45k miles by tomorrow.
Since this is an used car and also my first infinity, can anyone give me some ideas of what I should pay attention to or be aware of? Thanks a lot

If your G37S is 6MT then might want to watch out for the clunky shifting. It can be fixed by installing the RJM clutch pedal assembly though.

If you have OEM Rotors and pads, some of the big brake kits squeal in the cold and wet. Swapping out the pads will usually fix that. Don't turn off VDC to screw around on the road. In anything other than perfect road conditions, the back end can get squirrely under acceleration. Several members have put themselves into ditches and light poles doing that.

Back when I had the auto trans, the DS manual mode was pretty fun to play with. Other then that I thought everything else was fine, but then again I don't really have any other past cars to compare to cause it was my first car.

This would be my first Infiniti as well. But Sounds like there's nothing much I need to worry about. The car is currently under warranty and it's pre owned certified. Should I consider to buy an extended warranty for it?

I would get extended warranty. You never know what might happen, and you don't know how the previous owner took care of it.

Make sure it's an "S". I've heard of people buying a journey thinking it's a sport just because it had 19" wheel and a fake badge. What dealer you buying from?

Live in Texas so buying from Texas Direct Auto dealer. Yes it has the 19" wheel and a shift pedal on the steering wheel.
But how can we figure our if it's a fake or real package?

If by shift pedal on steering wheel, you mean paddle shifters then yes thats another feature of the S model. The S model also has a BBK (Big Brake Kit)

Also the biggest obvious difference is the front bumper. The S and journey have different front bumpers.

Night in soul is correct. The BBK will be a big indication.

Sport Seats. Look for the adjustable knee support.
