Top Speed of g37x?

Hi guys

I was wondering about the top speed of g37x.

When I'm cruising at 60 miles per hour, my engine rev is at 2000RPM, so 4000RPM is 120 miles, 6000RPM is 180 miles and 7500RPM is 225 miles per hour?

Is this correct? Any1?

If by g37x you mean a Bugatti Veyron, then yes. Otherwise, you are completely incorrect my friend.

what I mean is that if the car had the power, could it reach that speed? Has the potential to reach 200+ miles?

Okay, this definitely is in the running for the best thing I've ever heard on this forum.

I'll answer your question in case you're not trolling.

Revs do not necessarily equal power. You are forgetting the gear ratios. You could easily react 7500 rpm in first gear, but you'd be going maybe 30mph. That's why we have gears, you are changing the ratios, the engine only ever spins from 0-7000ish revs, you change gears and the engine rpm vs wheel rpm changes. Fourth gear is the closest stock g37's get to 1-1.

Either way, your top speed is governed by your *tires* and your ECU, not your engine. Factory top speed is 165.

It might be, I'm pretty sure I read the tires are rated to 165, and the governed cuts you at 163.

Not sure about the X coupe but I think the X sedan only has 149 mph rated tires, and lousy ones at that

A car's top speed is a factor of its horsepower and gearing. Often there's a top speed governor programmed into the ECU that prevents acceleration beyond a certain point. It may vary slightly between AT and MT models. On the 08 G37 MT the governor is at 155. I believe it is within about 5 mph of that figure on AT models. The 149 mph figure sounds right to my memory as well. So the answer is between about 150-160 mph. That's close enough for hypotheticals.

Correct, its 155, I had mine raised to 300MPH. As if I will ever reach close to it.

225mph in a g, Unless it's a supercar or 2013 Shelby gt500 is one of the only factory 200 mph car. Btw it has 665hp/forget the torque it's a lot.
IMO, don't think the car would hold together at that speed.
Not to mention tire blowout, at even 100 is dicey let alone double that speed.

So, this started as a hilarious thread but now that its become more sensible - I'd like to ask a question. So, its common knowledge that 6mt are ecu limited (or governed if you prefer) at 155. If that is removed - does anyone know the drag limited top speed?

I was able to reach 145mph on my '09 g37x Coupe. I'm pretty sure the car can go faster.
This was done at elevations of around 4900 ft.
