Loose Trunk Plastic Lip

So the other day, this plastic piece of my trunk came loose, and I figured that it would just snap back into place (looks like there is a slot in the trunk, and a plastic tab underneath the plastic piece).

To no avail, I can't get this thing back in (and yes I've searched the forum...can't find a similar issue). Could I have bent it somehow while removing something from my trunk (pretty sure it was my golf clubs that did it).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

really you just kinda have to whack in back into place.. i've removed that piece before to remove a taillight.. but it basically just snaps back into its spot.. obviously don't over-force it.. but give it another try. press evenly from both sides with both hands

The clips could possibly be broken. Take it off and look underneath it.

Mine two outer clips broke yesterday... My cousin set a 15 gallon jug on it and leaned on it and it broke... Anybody have an idea on how much these things cost?

To Mike and the OP... look in the slots see if the clips are still in the hole... Happened to me while removing that cover to take out my tails... Autozone sells them too its a metal V style clip.. $2.99 I think... Dealer wise $10and or less lol... but look to see first if the clips are just there in the slots... take some pliers and grab it out... if not just run to Autozone and grab a set comes in a 2pk...

Good luck!
