Go to the G37 section or the media share section, there are tons of cars with tints on them.

Look up what state you are in and what the laws say
That will take out most of the guess work

Im in massachusetts and under 35% is illegal but I am willing to go illegal. But I wanted to see some G's with light interior and decide which tint will be suitable for my G.

Not sure how inspection works in Mass. But in TX we have annual state inspections and they do check tint sometimes and you can fail if your tint is too dark. Some of the other states I've seen where cops are STRICT on tint and will give you a ticket on it.

But light color interior even dark tint it still looks light because of the interior color. But pictures you will not be able to tell how it will look in person. Because it's all different with the angle and the way the sunlight hits the interior. Just go to your tint shop and have them show you some in person.

I live in NJ and as most residents of the state know, their are restrictions on just about everything here. I had an G35 coupe that I had very light tinting put on all the windows minus the windshield, so when I went to inspection the inspector held a card near the edge of my drivers side front window and said he's sorry but he has to fail my car. It seems that most tint installers around here anyway leave about 1/8th of an inch from the edge of the window untinted so the tint doesn't start to roll when run past the window seal when you close the window all the way. I removed the front window tint went back and passed inspection and had it replaced, what a waste of money. I asked a friend of mine who is a Sgt. In the police department why police stop people with tinting and he quite frankly told me that they don't really care about the tinting unless the car is doing something else that's illegal or if they use the tinting as an excuse to stop the car for another suspected act going on within the car. I know I wouldn't want to be a cop, to many nutty people doing stupid things out there.

I just got my tint done yesterday at 20% and find it very nice. Dark enough to keep my interior cooler, but not too dark. In CA, they can give you a ticket for the driver and front passenger windows, but the shop told me if I get a fix it ticket I can pay $100 so they would remove and reapply after the ticket was taken care of.

I also have a 2010 white g37x coupe. But mine has the black interior.

2 days ago I went to retint my car, I had 35% all around and I wanted to go darker, i also wanted to tint my rear tail lights.

I put on 20% all around (except for the little windows behind the driver/passenger windows, those got blacked out) and also tinted my rear tail lights with a film so i can remove it if i ever need to

When the car rolled around I couldnt believe the differnce. I am in love. Its like a brand new car, especially with the smoked out tail lights

Its not too dark. Trust me go 20%. Youll love it. If ticket ever become an issue, it costs like 100$ to redo the front windows. No biggie

No biggie? Actually it is a biggie, big time hassle that is. If a ticket becomes an issue.

You have to

1. Take your car to the installer pay them to pull the tint off.
2. Drive to the city hall/court or station to prove of compliance and pay for the fix it ticket.
3. Drive back to the installer to put tint back on.
4. Get pulled over again, repeat process 1-3.

I'm glad they do not care about anything here. I always wonder how people in Cali survive with modified cars? Even with just an aftermarket exhaust you'll get pulled over for.

So you’re willing to go illegal. OK, then why not just rob a few banks for, let’s say, $500,000? Then you could pay the fine for illegal tint indefinitely and not be bothered by safety factors or any other silly rules that society forces on you. And be sure to pass it on to your kids, they'll be impressed.

It's just tint man, not a bank robbery lol. I have had 20% on all my cars and lived in the Midwest and California, I have been lucky and never got a fix it ticket, even been stopped for license plate light out and random warnings but most cops don't care to give you a ticket for tint unless they are mad about you for something else.

Another trick lots of people do is pull ur windows down when passing a cop or pull them down when he has you stopped.

20% is reasonable, 5% IMO is asking for trouble. But than again in Cali your not supposed to hve your front windows tinted at all in the first place

To me, the issue has never been how “lucky” an owner can be by driving with illegal tint and not being stopped by the cops. As posted on this site many times, some, if not the majority, of illegal tinters around here have never been pulled over, not yet at least.

My issue is two-fold: (1) Does a general willingness to do something illegal, albeit minor in this case, contribute to a slippery slope of more serious breaches of law, and (2) can driving at night with illegal tint cause an accident that may result in some innocent driver or pedestrian losing his or her life.

Yes, some drivers here will say they can see just fine at night with their illegal tint. But such rationalization is not only nonsense, but contributes to a general disregard for road safety.

Thank you for all your opinions!! I am thinking of doing 20% rear window and 30% in the front windows. The tint here in Massachusetts is not that bad, just need a connection to pass inspection, cops do not care at all. Cops get 15% tint around massachusetts.

The only thing that is dangerous with dark tint is tinting your front windshield. But tinting front windows and rear is not that bad, why do wealthy people sit in limos thats 5%.
