My poor G37X
My poor G37X
A terrible thing happen to me.
I just got a G37X 2009 less than a week ago and there was a flood in toronto. My car drove through the water and stalled. It just turned off on me as soon as i came out of the puddle.
I went to the mechanic and he said that water got into the air filters and into the engine.
Could it get any worse? The lights, panel, gps all worked. Do you think the insurance will scrap it or attempt to fix it?
worst day ever

If you got water in the actual engine block, you could be screwed. It is called Hydrolocking and I had that happen to my old Jeep that I offroaded and blew a piston thru the block. Basically the water in the cylindars doesnt allow the pistons to push up.
If you didnt try starting, it might be salvagable. Basically you have to take the whole top of the engine off and crank over the engine to push the water out. This could get pricey, however, it might be covered under your comprehensive plan on your insurance. Just not sure what company you have.
Best of luck!

sorry for your loss man
Insurance might just call it a loss, because a new engine costs so much plus labor costs.
ItalianG37xS is right...once water get into your engine everything starts to break. Water can not be compressed like air so your rods, pistons, crank shaft all start to snap.
