G37S auto/noauto, Journey + Sport clarification?

Hi All,

Am looking for a 2009 or 2010 G37 and if I don't get with an X, it looks like the S is right up my alley. Getting a little confused even with searching on the board.

Is the G37S manual only? Therefore a G37S with an automatic is really a Journey with Sports package?

For example (AutoTrader.com[INFIN[G37[]][]]&listingId=345628564&listingIndex=5&Log=0).

Manual versus auto discussions aside, it seems that the Journey + sports adds everything (brakes, LSD, 19" wheels, etc) that the G37S has. Is that correct?

Thanks!

G37S and G37 Journey w/ Sports pkg have the same equipment, and like you noticed, the one listed as G37S w/out the journey designation has the 6MT. Aren't you glad they didn't make it confusing
Also the G37X"S" coupe has nice big Akebono brakes and suspension upgrades, but the G37X "S" Sedan doesn't

I bought the G37xS Coupe and it does only come in Auto but it is the same as the g37s with journey package. The only difference is the height. Although it does have the suspension upgrades it still sits close to an inch higher then just the g37s model. This is due to the awd system. Saying that, its easy to drop on Eibach and looks identical then.

Thanks for the info guys. About to close the deal on a car it looks like. Another question - is it true that the base model could not have the sports package added on, and only the journey could?

Yes that's true, unless the parts were added after the purchase.

I have a 2009 G37x (awd) Journey COUPE.

I definitely want to keep the OEM ride - but would like to drop it about an inch utilizing OEM parts.

Is this possible and if it is - What is the magic combination ?

Thanks, Bob

Bob, one more option (on top of the info I gave you in the PM) would be Swift Springs, not oem but the ride is supposed to be the closest to stock and the drop is pretty mild.

The Tanabe Springs give a mild drop and are 5% stiffer than stock. I have them and like them. Regardless of which options you go with for lowering, I would highly recommend a camber kit.

Drove her 1,000 miles back home from Dallas. Here's a quick picture at her first filling up.

2010 Coupe, Journey, Sports, Nav, Premium. So I guess it makes it exactly a G37S with an automatic transmission Was pretty hard to find in red at a reasonable price. Hope I didn't do too bad but loving the car so far.

Congrats on your purchase. 1,000 miles drive back is one heck of a drive. Where in Dallas did you pick it up?

Thanks guys, am loving it so far. Only took about ~8 years from joining this G board to get one.... slight detour in life! @quaker - picked it up from Park Place Lexus Grapevine. They'd had it awhile so were pretty negotiable.
