Sport or not, that is the question...
I would say sport (since I own one). If you're going to keep it stock, the sport looks much nicer than the journey or base models. Also, the BBK, seats and 6MT (I know you want AT) is worth the price difference. The wheels are also much nicer in sport form.
I have a sport and could not see myself buying a journey to be honest. Like everyone else has said, the fascia, the wheels, brakes, suspension (although you may not necessarily like the stiffer ride), I don't see why you would opt for anything but an S. Good luck with whichever choice you do make.
Just wanted to make a point that the "stiffer" sport suspension is not really that stiff. IMO, anything less stiff wouldn't than the sport suspension is too soft. People here generally lean towards a more stiff set up than stock sport. It's still very comfortable.
I've actually owned both. I had a non-sport and now I have the sport. As others have stated, the stiffness in the ride is barely noticeable. The appearance aspects of the sport package are def the main selling points - the sport front bumper is way nicer, the 19-inch rims, the more pronounced side rocker panels, the sport seats with contrasting stitching and adjustable side bolsters, the paddle shifters and the aluminum trimmed pedals all give the sport package a huge edge. Oh, I forgot to mention the upgraded sport brakes too!
I have a 6 month old G37xS Coupe in Red. I added the R2C Ram air intakes in Black Chrome, a GT Spec front strut bar. Next will be the Light pulley and then Osiris Tune. Possibly spacers. I love the paddle shifters, the mags are amazing looking and the calipers are perfect. Although we have bad roads up here in Montreal, I find that the sport tuned suspension is still pretty smooth considering. I might go to coil-overs with bladders (air bags). I would definitely go with the sport model. No regrets whatsoever!

Thanks again for everyone's help, I'll keep you updated with my decision, hopefully sooner than later.

Stiff and harsh are two different things.
Prior to the G, I had a 2011 kia optima sx (sux). That car's suspension wasn't as stiff as the G's (sedan sport), but was harsher. More jolting when hitting the bumps and road imperfections. That car had other issues too, but that's beyond the scope of this thread

I bought a 6mt, so S was the only option. I couldn't see myself with a non S. The suspension feels great to me. The brakes are great and capable. Inspires a sense of confidence. I like the seats and the outside bits too. The only way a non sport would look decent is if you have a complete upgrade to every last outside bit to S or IPL components.
Well, I'll have to admit, I think you guys have helped make up my mind. Pretty sure I'm gonna go with the G37S. Now let's see how ready my dealer is to deal. Thanks a ton for all the input, it really did help.
