Walked out to my car yesterday to find this. No note or anything. I park directly across the street from where I work and I look at my car all day long; yet I never seen it happen

I think I may know who done it, but I'm not for sure. I'm going to check the cameras at a bank across the street to see if it caught anything.

This whole situation would have been much different and I wouldn't feel as "hurt" if they came and told me. They could have at least hit the front bumper so I can get a different one

This sucks! Good luck with the bank cameras!!

I understand how the lack of a note hurts more. I park my DD (not the G) on the street but can see if from my balcony. Was having a drink and a cig one time on the balcony and watched some turd back into my car with his Saturn Astra. What "got" to me was that he got out, examined his bumper without even a second thought about my car. I was furious and wathched him park, went down and called the cops. There was no seriouis damage to my car but, I wanted to be sure I followed "protocol".

The cop made a good point. Since the damage was minimal he recommended I just work it out with the Astra driver without any "police report" or hit and run charges. The police report would essentially place a "Front End Damage" claim on my CarFax even though it was just a light scratch. So $12 paint pen may cost thousands in diminished value.

If you can figure out who backed into it, give them a chance to pay out of pocket to avoid any blemishes on your history. Your paint looks very good and I presume you baby her so I would not want to ruin your resale more than it needs to.

Good luck man!

I checked with the bank. No luck. Their cameras don't point in that direction. I've filled a report and met with my insurance guy. It's basically down to how I want to handle it and fix it. I do try to keep the paint looking nice. I was gonna buy more exhaust parts but it looks like I'll be getting a door or whatever

Damn, that sucks!

DOnt sweat it too much man. What can you do but move on. At the end of the day it is just a car. It will be fixed by your insurance though, you may have to pay out your deductible.

Good luck man!

It's amazing what some people do these days!

Good luck on your repair.

I think a good PDR craftsman could get that out perfectly. I have access to one of the best in Austin, Texas. I do not know about your area, though.

The thing to watch with this approach is if the other driver agrees to cover your costs, then changes his mind and decides he doesn't want to cover them, you have little recourse. You have no police report so forcing the other driver or the insurance company to pay becomes extremely difficult.

This is a joke right..? Sorry man you are not going to be able to fix that with paintless dent removal... That vehicle needs a new door.

Here are some pictures of a fairly large dent on another car, before and after. The dent on the door is larger, so it will take longer to fix, but it is fairly uniform (there are not lots of little creases and waves in the dent). It should come out nicely if a skilled craftsman works on it.
