Good deal or bad deal on recent g37 purchase....

Hello! About two weeks ago I purchased a used 08 g37s 6MT from a Non Infiniti dealership in CA. Today I take my car to get serviced and 156 point inspected so I can purchase an extended warranty at my local infiniti store in Las Vegas, and I ask my service writer for service records and he tells me that the tranny and clutch were recently replaced before I purchased it. Now im not sure if I still would of purchased a car that had tranny problems and that may have very well be the reason it was traded in. I paid $22,600 for it car has 41k miles no accidents and good service record. The clutch also has an infiniti warranty for 12/12k whichever comes first. My question is do you think the dealer in which I purchased the car should of disclosed to me that the cars tranny was recently replaced? Since the actual dealer (kia)was the one that had the infiniti dealer replace the tranny? Car shifts good and all also has new tires and new brakes done by owner or dealer.

First of all if you see that transmission was replaced in infiniti service record then infiniti dealer replaced it. Kia can't replace the transmission and put it on your infiniti service record.

Second if all what's wrong with replacing the transmission. The infiniti dealership replaced it so I'm sure they used all OEM parts. You should be happy that you have a brand new transmission and clutch instead of 4 years old transmission and clutch. I don't think Kia need to tell you every single thing that the infiniti replaced under warranty. It's you job to run the Vin at the infiniti dealership before you buy it.

Anyway, your car shifts fine so you shouldn't be worry about it.

Btw it is fully loaded?

I got mine for about the same than you. Mine had 43K when I bought it though, and no new tires, new brakes, new transmission, or new clutch... You got yourself a good deal... but just like it was asked before: Is it FULLY loaded? Does it have every single option available for that year?

Some forget that ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control), AFS (Adaptive Front lighting System), and 4WAS (4 Wheel Active Steering) are/were options too, if yours is fully loaded, it should have these...

I've seen some Gs on sale that claim they are "Fully Loaded" and don't have the above mentioned options, which would raise the car cost. Therefore, if you have all these options and the paint is also well kept, you actually have a very good deal on your hands my friend!

Just wanted to get everyones thoughts, I just felt like the Kia dealership should of atleast mentioned that the tranny was replaced since its a major component. I ran a carfax and autocheck and it didnt mention it. I tried to get service records before purchasing it and was turned down. Thanks for your responses it does make me feel better that all work was done at the Infiniti store with oem parts...
