Stock sport 19" rims.. any ideas or products to recommend on fixing it yourself instead of taking it to a shop would be much appreciated! Three years curb rash free now the two rims on the right side are messed up smh

 

Get a dremel kit. it can't get any worse.

 

I guess my first option would be to let a "pro" work on my wheels to get the best result.

If you're in the Bay Area, we've got a guy who does them for us and does an amazing job. I think he charges around $75/wheel, although it might be closer to $100 retail. I've seen his work on dozens of wheels and they almost always come out looking as good as new.

Well to help those who have the newer 2010-2012 19" Sport wheels, I found just by accident that an old VW touch up paint kit called "Reflexsilver metallic" for a 05/08 year VW Golf. Possible part # LST OM2 A7W is a perfect match for the paint on these rims.

I'm not sure you can get it anymore from VW but I think if you can get the paint code then an body shop auto paint supplier could probably make you up a pint or quart of it. By the way if you have some old touch up paint you buy in those little kits from the dealer and it's starting to dry out, try using either lacquer thinner or MEK solvent to bring it back to a nice liquid level that you can use. It will work as long as the paint isn't too dry to begin with.

I feel your pain, Saturday night a valet curbed my passenger rear sport rim. I bought the car last week, so it's going back to the dealership tomorrow to be re-finished.
