You can try other shops around you and shop around or you can just do them yourself and save a lot more money.

I didn't do any of those services they recommended me to do because it's just a way of the dealer making money.

If you are interested in doing most of the work on our car. There are a lot of D.I.Y instructions on the forums.

Cabin air filter at 4500 miles? You live in the desert or some other extremely dusty region? If you need a cabin air filter, you probably need to replace your engine air filters too.

If your dealer is charging that much you should probably run and find a new dealer. It should be no more than 150-200 at the dealer. And DIY would be no more than 50-60 for those two depending what oil and filter you use.

The nice thing about JDM is that the maintenance is SUPER intuitive. You can DIY most things. I'm looking at BMWs and Mercedes Benz's and there is absolutely no DIY for them. BMWs have more but nothing for MB.

Check out the awesome DIY section and tackle it yourself. If you get stuck, everyone here is extremely helpful.

^^^ +1

Regular maintenance procedures and more are found at the DIY section. I saved soooo much money by doing them myself, and ended up learning things about the car I did not know...like, have you guys seen how much aluminum Infiniti used in our cars under there?

You'll get more help than you will ever need here, everyone chimes in to help when someone is in need, I guarantee you that!

I take the Mobil1 5-30 EP and a Mobil 1 M-108 filter to my dealer and they charge $23 for the service. They also do an free inspection, as you know they are looking for something that needs fixing.

I am sure there is room at your apt. There has to be a section where it is free but if you want the shop to do it. Then just take the service request to that shop and see if they can do it for cheaper. IMHO a big waste of money.

Heck I even do my friends oil change on his civic at his apartment and had many people call the cops and come up to me thinking I was stealing his car hahahahaha.

I wonder how that conversation went... "Yes officer, I was trying to steal this Civic but wanted to change its oil first, right here in broad daylight..."

LOL. Almost, the cop was yell at me saying "get out from underneath the car". So I did and was questioning what I was doing underneath there. I said I was doing an oil change on a friends car. lol he thought I was stealing some parts underneath the car. Funny.
