Smart idea to resell and buy?

Hey guys i currently have a 08S MT with 25k millage on it. I was originally going to drive this till it breaks down but my boss is saying to resell it when i hit around 60k mileage and buy a newer one because the maintenance will cost about the same, if not more. Is this a smart idea where you keep selling and rebuying? Because i was just about to buy a 11 aero bumper and my 08 would basically become the 2011 but not sure if its worth the investment if i were to resell it down the road anyhow. Any thoughts?

It depends, if you bought the car new then you would lose money. But if you bought the car used, it depends on how much you pay for it.

This isn't a BMW. You are unlikely to come out ahead this way.

I bought mine used for 28k with navi. So im guessing it would be more worth it just to keep it till it dies or pretty close to it? lol and no my boss isnt looking for a g37 but that would be hilarious. He use to drive a 335i but now has a m6 and trust me he always argues with me of his overpriced old 335i everyday and when i was on the market for a car tried to sell me his.

LOL sorry my wording isnt accurate the 60k was meant in the mileage i should sell it at. And if i were to resell my g i would prolly buy a 2011 used one with low mileage. would doing this make it worth it or still I'd be losing money?

Lol that would make sense now.
As far as I just looked at records from an auction site (manheim), they typically sell for around 23k.
So you just gata figure out your costs and whatnot. From what I've read on here though, there's not many problems that come up with the G.

If you increased your loan by $10k (upgrading to a 2011) you'd be paying at least another $2000 a year. Short of blowing the tranny or engine, maintenance wouldn't come anywhere near that. If you want to follow that logic, lease the car instead of buying it.

If you have an 08, your warranty is already up, so why 60k miles?

At 60k an 08 G will be worth, at most in the low 20s. A new 6MT G will be 36-44K.

Is your G going to cost you 15-20k g in repairs at 60K? No. At 100k? No.

Keep some dough in the bank for new tires and clutch/CSC replacement.

Still got alittle over 1 yr of basic warranty and 3 more years of powertrain. He said 60k millage is where the problem usually starts but from the responses it doesnt seem too smart to do this lol. 08S MT TILL DEATH DOES US APART!

Our basic warranty is 4 years/60,000 miles whichever comes first, so unless yours is a late 08 model, you are out of warranty by now. You are sitll good for the other warranties (powertrain and corrosion)
