The car is four months old now, no probs except this morning I noticed one of the two hood struts chattering and seems to bind when closing the hood. Certainly under warranty, but wondering if you all have found these struts problematic or unreliable.

 

Mine does the same thing especially if you try to close the hood from the side or a little off-center in the front. It's not the first strut I've had which has done the same when not closed right on center. I don't think there is much support near the strut rod and it's seals so it tends to rock or chatter when pushed down from any angle greater than straight on.
