Fellow hockey player! I'm a goalie (with 36'' leg pads) and that was my concern too but I actually brought my gear with me to the sell and fit it all in there. If I can fit a fully stocked goalie bag into the trunk of a coupe (08) you shouldn't have any issues. The rear seats fold down for the stick and I throw the leg pads in the rear seat.

so far the G37 is the only nice car out of all these. it's hard to beat!!!

I love the G35 but it's getting older as we go along so re-sale won't be great.
Well I guess the G is in your range. For problems go here. TSB - Technical Bulletins - MyG37

All the problems that we have are listed there.

I was choosing between a BMW 335i coupe and a G37S coupe - and the G won hands down. The 335 styling looks a generation older, and the interior could be out of a pickup truck (and I say that coming off owning an M3, which was as bad). And a 335 is physically identical to much slower brethren in the 3 series line. The G can be mistaken for nothing else!

I'd find a low mileage '08 and invest the savings in upgrades. Actually - that's what I did! Not much difference between an '08 and a '12, and whatever little differences there are can be upgraded in most cases.

Some people prefer the G35 for its brutality compared with the G37 - but it is getting older. We have another couple of years to go w/ this '37' body style before it's replaced.

Get a Sport if you can, as the brakes are awesome. What did Porsche say? "It's not how fast you go - it's how fast you stop that makes a good sports car."

No Brembo past the G35 - but while I forget who makes these for Infiniti now, they're at least as good or better. The reviews are all very positive.

I don't think they had an 'X' option for the coupe early on, but from what I've read it's not the type of all wheel drive you want for performance anyway - not like a Carrera 4 sort of calibration - it's more for snow. I've heard some complaints that it impedes cornering, but that might be from people not used to the system.

CarMax is a good place to investigate pricing and availability.

As you probably know snow/icy conditions can be very dangerous. I'm from NJ and I was so thankful two winters ago that I had awd. Saved my *** twice from what wouldve been a terrible collisions. Just something to keep in mind for safety reasons. what good is a car that can't do its main function when you need it, which would be getting you from point A to point B safely.

in terms of performance, the g37x awd is heavier but multiple sources claim its quicker off the line than the rwd g37. its intelligent awd meaning "By constantly monitoring wheelspin, throttle position and vehicle speed, this system automatically diverts up to 50% of the available power to the front wheels, enhancing traction and control when conditions are less than optimal. When all-wheel drive is not needed, the system sends 100% of the power to the rear wheels for more responsive road performance." (http://www.infinitiusa.com/about/tec...ll_wheel_drive)

yes don't worry, snow, Canada, I get it lol, we drive in snow 4 months out of the year, every year, we drove fwd awd rwd, trucks, sports cars, luxury cars, regular cars, snow is snow.

the best so far was a Lexus ISF in the snow, can't be much more powerful rwd in snow to test it, lol.

awd won't be in my price range anyways.

Coming from a 04 G35 sedan to a 2010 G37 coupe, I can honestly tell you that the trunk space in the sedan is vastly greater than the coupe. I had a G37 sedan as a loaner the other day and opened up the trunk to put my brief case into it and I was simply stunned at how small the coupe trunk is in comparison. I highly recommend searching for a G37S Sedan with 6MT as it will be much more family friendly for you, cheaper and easier to find one. For example, I live alone and did a Costco run for some of the usual paper products and food, and ended up driving home with the toilet paper on the front passenger seat (yes, rear seats were folded down already and covered with stuff). That being said, I wanted two doors for my car, and certainly understand if you feel the same way; but I am just reminding you to keep your options open.

Also if you look through the Sedan thread of the photos, I think it's call show me you Sedans or something like that, you will see they can look very nice. I saw a black G37S sedan yesterday and it looked amazing. They are very nice cars as well as the coupe.

the "x" awd version is only available with the 7 speed automatic, so you'll have to decide between MT and awd. Paddle shifters for the automatic are included in the Sports package, and are also available from Infiniti to upgrade non-Sports. '09 is the first year of the "x", and '11 is the first year of the G37xS. If you plan on buying one with nav, the nav was upgraded in '10. If you want 18 extra hp, IPL's came out in '11. The big brakes are the Okebono's.

Go do test drives, my wife and I did for over 2 years before deciding on a car. Even after we decided on a G we test drove about every model we could before buying.
