OK believe it or not the stripe is growing on me. A little. I don't love it and I'd never do it, but after your explanation I at least get it.

I love your wheels and the stripe is growing on me. I just think it would look a lot nicer if you removed the part of the rear bumper cover and just left the side like domestic cars. It sort of reminds me of the retro 03/04 Mach 1 Mustang decals and the decals on Saleen Mustangs which look very nice IMO.
I hope you continue to share photos of your project with us.

Thanks! I have mulled over changing the rear bumper stripe, but not sure. It would be less eccentric without it, and I'd feel better painting the rear valance in that case as it would be less busy back there. I don't know . . .

The stripe is more of a 'domestic' look (I'm avoiding the word 'Detroit'), though I've seen similar stripes on many a 350 and 370Z.

BTW: I'm shocked at how smooth this car rides in spite of the suspension/wheel change! Way to go Swift!

I didn't notice the red stripe until I read the rest of the posts! Now that I see it, it's not all that bad. I've seen much worse and people on this forum was giving props.
