After pics of window/light tinting, plasti dipped rims and grill.
LOL. Haters goin hate.

You do YOU dude. Opinions are opinions, only one that matters is the one you get when you look at your car. <-- With that said, you're posting on forums where people comment so people will say stuff..

People hate on your mods if you specifically post pics of them and ask "Let me know what you guys think". Sometimes I will hate it and say so. If you don't ask what I think, I'll just keep it to myself if I don't like it. But if you ask, then some people like me may think it looks cheap or just not particularly agree with your taste. Don't ask if you don't want to know. Don't expect everyone to follow the popular fad of the moment. I have a lot of things dome to my car that aren't particular popular with this crowd but I like them. So I don't post and ask opinions becasue I don't car what everyone else likes.
I'm not a hater. I'm just a guy who was asked what he thought and doesn't like the mod. Pretty simple actually. I still don't know why some people get butthurt when a negative opinion is expressed when solicited.
Just to be clear, let me state again for the record that Plastidip as paint usually looks cheap and tacky and classless. I've seen some exceptions. But few. Just my opinion. I have chips in my paint on my grille, bumper and lip. Some think that looks horrible. But I prefer it to Plastidip. Others differ.

Did you actually understand the part of my post you quoted? For one thing, I said I have seen a few applications that didn't look cheap or tacky, but that's not generally the case. For another thing, I clearly stated this is my opinion. How would compliments you get on your car affect my opinion? It's mine, that's the nature of opinions.
Yes, I have been on this forum for years and I'm well aware that Plastidipping body parts and wheels are a very popular mod in this community. Yes, I'm pretty well aware that the majority of people commenting on it like it. No, my problem isn't that it is inexpensive, I am the king of modding while being as frugal as possible. I rattle can DIY painted my grille before having it professionally done. That was cheaper than Plastidip and in my opinion looked a zillion times better. Most of my mods were done much more cheaply than others although they are all quality parts. Many of them used. So it's not about the money spent. It's about the quality of the mod for me.
I just don't like the look of it. It would look great inside wheel wells or on an undercarriage. I don't like it as a look for exterior body panels, at least not in most cases. I don't like it on wheels because I'm not a fan of matte black in most cases. I've seen a couple examples where it was used sparingly and looked better. I also hate any type of tinted headlight lenses. These are my opinions. Many will differ and I'm OK with that.

haha, well I'm not butthurt about the couple of negative comments I've gotten, i asked for opinions, hell i was on the fence about the rims being black, or silver, or gunmetal. Which is why I plastidipped them first to check how I'd like them. My rims turned out good, even everyone who seems them in person up close loves them, however the grill turned out even better and people think it came painted that way lol. I get tons of compliments, and even got asked to join a few car clubs since i plasti dipped my rims and grill so it turned out well. however, After using it i wouldn't use it as a long term solution for black rims (ill get them powder coated if i go with black) it's better to use it for winter protection, trying out new looks before you pay for something permanent, or a cheap quick fun non-permanent solution that can turn out looking great if you put the time into it. I personally feel like it doesn't give you the long lasting clean professional look that powder coating will, but plasti dip is a great product that honestly looks great and will last a while. I think some people just hate on plasti dip because so many people just throw it on without properly prepping, or put it on too thick and too quick. It's like any painting it takes a little practice to get it to turn out right. my grill turned out the best because it was easy to prep and i did it last so i had more experience with using plasti dip. If you do plasti dip something put in the prep work (clean with just water then wipe off with rubbing alcohol let completely dry look for spots you missed then do it in about 5 thin coats you let dry between sprays and youtube it lol).
