Body Kit Questions

Hey All!

So a week ago my car (2008 BS G37s) was in a parking lot hit and run. My G took some damage to the rear bumper and rear driver side quarterpanel. Long story short my insurance is coving the damages. This got me thinking about possible upgrade options while its in the body-shop.

What are the best options for body kits (clean lines, no rice looks please!)? Please consider flush fitment and a reasonable cost. Also is there any kits that only replace front end and side skirts with the rear end remaining stock?

I appreciate any feedback you are willing to give! Also any Edmonton, Alberta G owners know a good bodyshop?

you can look into the IPL/Aero conversion. a lot of members on the board are doing it. do a search. theres a whole fat thread with all the info you will need.

Thanks for the advice, honestly I'm not that crazy into the look of the IPL unfortunately. Something about the front bumper throws me off.

Check out the modding 411 section. I think there's some suggestions in the exterior portion of that section.

See my posts on my accident - i'm leaving sport rear and front bumper - adding Aero side sills.

That's actually a great idea! I don't mind the front and back but could use a bit more aggressive sides! Will the bumpers still lineup with the sides?

Looks are subjective, but the IPL/Aero bumper and side skirts I added have given me loads of compliments. Even people not too knowledgable with cars in general at my job have stopped and said..."wait does the Inifiniti's comes with that cool front bumper?"

I love it bro. I think it looks vastly superior to the sport bumper on the 08' and any other body kit bumper out there. Best part: It's OEM!!! Fit like a glove straight from Infiniti. I'd look into it and check out pics from many that did the conversion. The front and sides alone drastically improve the appearance of the G. Might want to look into it.

Thanks for the response. I definitely will look into it!

I actually took the advice from this thread started looking into the aero conversion; the price for the IPL kit is just too amazing to not consider! (the look actually REALLY grew on me aswell) I'm thinking of ordering from Infiniti parts and getting the IPL front end and side skirts in Blue Slate (awesome that they even carry my color!!!) does anyone know if they ship to Canada? Also from thumbing through the massive IPL/aero thread it looks like most of the items that I will need are usually on backorder, has anyone recently purchased an IPL kit from this site? How long did you have to wait? Also I haven't decided on if I will be going the fog light route yet or not.. Thoughts?

Sorry for all the random questions I am just excited!

I didn't want to go the fog light route, but we really don't have a choice unless you want open holes in your Aero bumper with no fogs. To save you a tremendous time reading, you cannot buy any fog light vents to cover the bumper holes. You either have the fogs or have holes.

You will need the slimmer washer reservoir, as well as the fog lights and wiring harness to complete the swap. Search Sentra fog lights on Amazon (what I did) and purchase the set. Pretty inexpensive and the wiring harness is cheap as well.

You'll be happy you went this route I guarantee it. OEM fitment and looks great. What more can you ask? DO IT!! I did...lol.

Here is mine without fogs and no coilovers. Both have been installed since..just have been lazy taking pictures. You get the idea though.

Top Secret body kit looks great. I think AIT sells a replica of the front bumper which is one of the kits best parts

You can also look into the Autokits-X front lip and sideskirts. G37SAM's car is a very good example of that.

I'd get the new S front like darryl865 has on his car. Try that in combination with IPL sides maybe? I'm with you on the IPL front. But what I have noticed is that it looks SICK when you have the right wheels and a drop.
